Crazy. How do you win a playoff game with less than 10 shots on goal, and none at all in the second period?"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. I watched the replay 3-4 times and I still can't understand how he got the puck through there.Originally posted by MartyFunkhouser View PostGet Marner to the second round and he is a hell of a charmer. I think that John Cooper has been out there kicking puppies or something and karma is after him. First Canada dominates USA hockey and loses and now this.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View Post

I think that I'm ready to throw my hat in the ring with the Wild. It would be cool to see Nick Foligno win a Stanley Cup and there isn't really anyone that I hate on the Wild. I don't see them getting past the Avs,
A little late, but here are my predictions for round 2
Canes in 4
Avs in 7
VGK in 6
Sabres in 7
Canes in 6 over the Sabres
Avs in 5 over the Knights
Avs in 7 over the Canes

I don't think Philly wins a game against the Canes. The Canes are like a supercharged version of Philly. Both play a shot suppression style of play. While Philly is a little better on the season 5v5 with xGA, they just don't general chances.Originally posted by falafel View Post

Carolina is second in the league 5v5 at xGF, second in SCF, and 1st in HDCF.
Philly is 28th in the league 5v5 at xGF, 29th in scoring chances for, and 19 in HDCF.

As someone who has watched this team roughly 90 times over the past 6 months, I can assure you that this team looking slow and outmatched is not a one-off.Originally posted by MartyFunkhouser View PostKnights looked horrible that game. Looked slow and outmatched. Really hard to win 5 in a row in the playoffs. I sat near some a-hole Ducks fans. Russ Tyler would be devastated.
I also sat next to a loud drunk and high woman from Boston who just yelled "Baaaabbhy Ooooaaaarrrr!" over and over again.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I could be wrong about the outmatched point. I obviously don't watch a lot of Knights game. Fair on the slow point, they are slow. They looked slow against the Mammoth as well, they just weren't outmatched. They controlled possession, did a good job with shot suppression, and didn't give up a ton of high danger chances. Same with the first game of this series. Looked slow, but not outmatched.Originally posted by Donuthole View Post

I don't know what to think about VGK long term. Everyone wants to play there. They attract free agents and trade targets, but they have an ugly cap situation and they are starting to get old.
I'm still pissed off about San Jose getting the second pick. San Jose is a serious problem in the Pacific. The Ducks also look like they are going to be around for a long time. Edmonton is about to get blown up. I can't believe they still haven't fired Bowman. if I'm McDavid, walk in and give them a list of teams that he would accept a trade to if they don't fire Bowman that day.
I wouldn't be surprised if next year it is Sharks and the Ducks at the top of the Pacific. Still can't believe that San Jose jumped up in the draft. As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression
