    MLB All-Star Game

    I'm really hoping the NL finally breaks the streak, and I don't see why they can't. With jimenez, johnson, halladay and lincecum pitching, I gotta say the NL takes it 6-4.

    Also, how does Yadier Molina start in the all-star game? Batting .223? Last year I understood because the game was in St. Louis (and his numbers were a little better), but I don't get it now.

      He's still an excellent defensive catcher. I can't defend his numbers, though, especially compared to Miguel Olivo (11 HR's, 42 RBI's, .325 avg, .377 OBP).

          Not to mention Olivo has thrown out a higher percentage of base runners.

                      It is actually a good thing. Ubaldo has struggled in 3 out of his last 4 starts.

                          Maybe I have just grown older, but I remember as a kid when I used to love the Home Run Derby and the All-star game.

                          I turned the TV off last night when I saw that this is what was leading SportsCenter. Just not interested.

                          This game lost its excitement about 20 years ago.

                              You guys are all getting so old, all of these "I remember when........" posts about MLB, The NBA, and College football. I have a feeling for most people life just gets in the way of being a rabid sports fan so over time they just lose interest.

                                  a thousand times this. I now concentrate my time in smaller circles of fanaticism. I used to follow all sports with zeal. Now, keeping up with the NBA, CBB, and to a lesser extent, MLB have fallen to the wayside of daily updates in favor of coaching my boys LL team, attending youth basketball, etc.

                                  EDIT: As I post this, I realize that my zeal for sports hasn't waned, just where I pay attention has changed. My focus in more personal and local, and not as much national as when I was single/early marriage.

                                                  Impressive pitching by the NL (and AL for that matter). Why can't Wilson go 3 up 3 down when he's playing for the Giants? He gets the job done, but always with drama.

                                                  First NL win since I got my driver's license.

                                                      When they joked that he was 3 years old when the NL last won in 1996, he said he was 8...actually Brian, you were 12. Oh well, he'll make more this year than I'll probably make in my lifetime.
