The Kentucky Derby is covered quite a bit. Don't they devote something like 4-5 hours to that race on the day it occurs?

The Indy 500 is dead, I agree.

The heavyweight division, for some reason, is dead. It must be the decline in boxing amongst blacks in this country. The Latin American countries don't seem to produce very many heavyweights. Athletically gifted blacks are look for less punishing ways to apply their gifts after seeing what happens to the likes of Mohammed Ali and whole slew of other heavyweights. George Foreman seems to be the exception and not the rule as far as keeping your mind in decent shape after boxing.

The World Cup is getting to the point where it's on par with the Olympics with the American viewing public. But after that debacle yesterday, I think that's the limit for soccer in this country. Spain scored a total of 8 goals during the entire World Cup and wins it all. That's unacceptable for a skeptical American sports fan.

While watching the 30 for 30 documentary on the USFL, it seemed to me that a football league that operated in the Spring and had its postseason during the Summer could have made it with good enough management and patience. Unfortunately, the USFL was horribly mismanaged. They started selling off franchises and watered down the league that already was pretty thin.

July is bad, August is bad up until the very end when college football starts and the last half of June sucks. Regular season baseball just doesn't do it for a lot of people.
