  • Michael Vick

So after this past season in the NFL, I have gotten over my dislike of Vick. He may have screwed over Atlanta and lied to Arthur Blank, but we are in a better position and I wanted to see him be successful because he is fun to watch. I was skeptical that he was ever really going to be clean.

Well, he is back to his old ways of lying and hanging out with the wrong people. I don't think he had anything to do with the shooting, but he shouldn't be putting himself in these situations. Great talent, but the guy is not smart.

    He's a big dummy.

Part of the rules of his probation state that he is not to associate with former cohorts. So what does he do? Throws a party near his hometown, charges $50 a head and what happens? The guy that turned on him in the dog fighting ring shows up. Brilliant.

Allegedly, the shooting happened down the street from the club after Michael Vick left...but it is possible and down right probable that his brother Marcus, who has managed to be even a bigger dummy, is involved in the shooting.
"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I wonder how Philly is feeling now about trading McNabb??

What an idiot... I hope the Commish' comes down hard on him for this. Even if he was not involved it is the appearance..

I'm sure this doesn't change Philly's stance on trading McNabb. Remember, Kolb was the biggest reason they moved Donny, not Vick.

Secondly, if he has NOTHING to do with the shooting, how can you come down hard on him? Might as well blame the Virginia Tech shooting from 4 years ago or so on him as well, because that is where he went to school. You know, gotta be careful with appearances...

It is probably very likely that he has nothing to do with it, other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Per the terms of his probation, he needs to avoid being in the wrong place at the wrong time. There's no reason to think that whoever the shooter is wouldn't say Vick told him to do it...he has nothing to lose, even if it's not true. Same reason his co-conspirators turned on him in the dog fighting ring.

I agree that he likely had nothing to do with it. I realize that Newport News is his hometown, but it is stupid enough to spend time there, let alone throw a $50 per head party that is open to the public. He was asking for problems and asking for his old buddies to be around him. Newport News area is to Mike Vick, what strip clubs are to Pacman Jones.

I don't think the NFL should suspend him unless he actually had something to do for the shooting, as you cannot suspend someone for just being a complete moron.

                Sizzle:

He may have not had anything to do with it, but he threw the party and a gun fight took place at his party. I don't think anyone is shot if he had a private party, but he opened it up for all to see and tried to make some money on it. He probably more than likely broke his probation in the process as well. In addition, his time-line does not add up as stated in the report. He is known to lie and I do not think Goodell would take that well if he lied about his time-line in this issue..

Sorry, maybe typing the word NOTHING in all caps to add emphasis made it invisible to you. If he had NOTHING to do with it, he should not be punished.

I am not interested in speculating about his timeline/story. Just in stating that if he is 100% innocent he deserves the same punishment as you do for the shooting.

The only thing he will get suspended for is Goodell specifically told him to have no contact with persons that were at that party. The fact that he was with those people and then this happened = Goodell brings down the hammer.

LOL. Your nothing at all means NOTHING to me..

Goodell is cleaning house and Vick is on a short lease.... He signed terms to return to the NFL, and I bet being in the news for your party that involved a shooting would fall under the "Bringing negative press to you, your team and the NFL...

He deserves to be punished for being stupid. How many chances does a former convict get in your eyes if he was an employee of yours??

Vick is guilty, the video shows this guy got in an altercation with his Vicks girlfriend 3 minutes before he got shot. A guy in a white tank top driving a white escalade shot him.

Witness say the only person with a White Escalade at the party was Marcus Vick. Mike I am sure told Marcus to handle his business and Marcus did.

If this is true (and I'm not saying it is true), Michael Vick's fall from grace is complete. Although, I'm not a Vick hater anymore, I wouldn't put some criminal activity past him because I never believed he was reformed. However, I would be shocked if he was he was wiling to kill or order someone to kill.

Commonwealth's Attorney Harvey L. Bryant told The Associated Press Wednesday night in a telephone interview that Vick was not involved in the shooting and that he left the nightclub "in the 3- to 5-minute range" before it occurred.

Bryant would not go into detail about the confrontation, but said there was no evidence the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback was involved in "anything that would amount to aggressive or assaultive conduct."

"He's an athlete and an entertainer, but he's also a human being, and things that would tick you and I off would tick him off," Bryant said. "But he extricated himself from those things and left with the help and encouragement of some of his friends and supporters."

Police have said Vick was not the shooter. Bryant said the investigation also shows that Vick "was not aware of whether or not anyone was going to be shot, was threatened to be shot or anything to do with any of that business."
I got a different read from the article so I think he'll just get a sit-down meeting, but only Goodell knows what Goodell will do.
