    UFC 114

I woke up this morning expecting a lively discussion to have already taken place here about last night's card for Rampage vs. Rashad.

Overall it was a pretty decent card. Most of the guys I was cheering for lost...

Sodollah went down in one of the prelims and was pretty much controlled by his opponent the whole fight.

I thought Diego Sanchez would have a good bounce back, but by moving up in weight he didn't do himself any favors.

The Rousseu fight was probably the most entertaining. Guy comes out looking like a tomato can and lands one big punch and wins the fight. His opponent was incredulous, but give Rousseu credit, he stood in there and took some big punches.

Little Nog got a nice gift from the judges, there is no way he won that fight. Griles got robbed!

The Bisping/Miller fight was pretty boring and again, pretty one sided in the favor of Bisping.

Rampage/Rashad had some fireworks early, but overall was pretty boring until Rampage landed that big shot in the 3rd, but he couldn't finish him and Rashad controlled the fight and got enough shots and take-downs in to get the win.

Rashad now gets Shogun, which could be interesting. I was telling Surfah and UD last night that I'd like to see Rampage/Machida next.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

It was a good slate of fights. Rampage just looked rusty, but also credit Evans for being a lot quicker and really patiently executing a plan. Props also go to Surfah for showing he is much more of a man than I am when it comes to hot wings.

I thought you were going to say props for wearing my Lakers shirt.

Rashad is a pussy and reverted back to his old ways of trying to win a decision. You talk all that shit and then you make zero effort to finish Rampage.

Russows knockout was awesome. Overall a decent card.

Rampage didn't exactly back up his talk either...

            Exactly.

I don't blame Rashad for not going toe to toe with Rampage, why would he? Rashad did his thing. He landed that bomb early and took Rampage down in each round, something that he wasn't supposed to be able to do given Rampage's takedown defense.

I'm more disappointed in Rampage than Rashad. Especially since Rampage had Rashad on the ropes and couldn't finish it.

I actually think Rashad can give Shogun some trouble with his wrestling. Should be a good one.

Russow's KO of Duffee was awesome.

I was more impressed with Russow's muffin top. I thought his attempt to slap his opponent was also noteworthy. Rashad did exactly what you knew he would which is control the ring. Effective but not exactly backing up all the bravado.

Evans made $435,000 for that fight plus one of the $65,000 bonuses I believe.

Was that the 15 minutes of monkey-style bonus?

                    Whoops, I was wrong:

Fight of the Night: Antônio Rogério Nogueira vs. Jason Brilz
Knockout of the Night: Mike Russow
Submission of the Night: Ryan Jensen

I've just started getting into UFC. Not enough to put down the $ to watch a live event, but enough to be interested in the outcome. I watched the highlights and it was pretty amazing how Rampage missed on three punches in a row, any of of them connecting would have won it for him.

Yeah, even Evans I think commented on this in the post fight. Rampage had him on his back and stunned for a few second and did not land a single shot cleanly. Had he connected with even one of them the fight would have been over. I bet that will haunt him.

Apparently Russow suffered a broken arm in the first round of that fight. That is one seriously tough dude.
