I went to the game last night and today. Both of them were against Springville. The Red Devils played tough and lead for most of both games. But in back to back extra inning games the Dons found a way to win in their final atbat.
Kayden Porter of SF, hit a homerun last night that I promise has not landed yet. It was at least 450 feet. Absolute bomb. Today he does it again this time to the deepest part of the ball park over the 422 sign in left center.
Ute fans mark this down and one time I will be complimentary about your own. Travis Still hit a line drive homerun to start the scoring today, then he beat out an infield hit on a routine ground ball, and stole second, then scored the game winner on a single to left. He can flat out fly. If that speed translates to the football field he could be solid.
Coach Shoe is a legend winning I believe his 10th state title.
Also I was sitting by a scout with a gun. Adam Duke pitched the 8th inning and he was hitting 95-96 on the gun with every pitch. Then he snapped off a 12-6 curve that was 69. Absolutely nasty. This scout thinks he will go in the first 3 rounds.
Also Kayden Porter who is a man child about 6'6 250 pounds, was hitting 92-93 on the gun consistently.
Proving that you do not have to throw hard was Springvilles pitcher, he was only throwing high 60s, low 70s with his fast ball but he had a ton of movement and he was pretty nasty with his offspeed and breaking pitches.
A fun few days of baseball.
