Exactly, baseball deserved the criticism that it received in the past. What baseball doesn't deserve is the higher level of criticism that they continue to receive. It has reached the point that nothing baseball does is enough. It isn't enough to have the toughest PED policy, they still take more criticism than any other sport.

I still don't understand your gripe. Is the 50 game suspension designed solely to hurt the player or the team? Shouldn't it hurt both? Isn't this how must suspensions are designed? What's the difference between a fine and suspension then? Edinson's suspension doesn't hurt the team in any way and only really affects his wallet. Shouldn't there be some pause for thought and consideration as to whether his suspension while coinciding with his stint on the DL metes justice? I don't think that is undue criticism at all. Sounds like you just have something else to be angry at.

How are suspensions not designed to hurt the team? If it's just the player being hurt why not just zap him for a fine equivalent to his salary for 50 days?
