I still don't understand your gripe. Is the 50 game suspension designed solely to hurt the player or the team? Shouldn't it hurt both? Isn't this how must suspensions are designed? What's the difference between a fine and suspension then? Edinson's suspension doesn't hurt the team in any way and only really affects his wallet. Shouldn't there be some pause for thought and consideration as to whether his suspension while coinciding with his stint on the DL metes justice? I don't think that is undue criticism at all. Sounds like you just have something else to be angry at.

It is a coincidence that he is on the DL when he the suspension comes down. I also don't think the suspension should be designed to hurt the team, it is the player that committed wrongdoing not the team.

I'm not angry about this or looking for something to be angry about. I think it is a legit discussion and I believe that MLB continues to, unfairly, receive more criticism about PEDs than other leagues. I think it an interesting discussion that is all.

How are suspensions not designed to hurt the team? If it's just the player being hurt why not just zap him for a fine equivalent to his salary for 50 days?
