They conceded after 7 ends. What a blowout.

I'm watching the US men's for the first time tonight.

        Shuster is horrible.

He was just trying to bump one of his stones back in to take out a Chinese stone and he completely missed the first stone in the sequence.

        He is horrible.

When you are bumping stones, you put more weight on them and they don't curl as much, so setting up the lines is much easier. There really is no way he should have missed that first stone.

        Wow.

The Canadian women have stolen a point in 3 ends in a row.

          I've never seen that before.

Bo Jr plays on a curling team at the Olympic Ice Oval on Thursday nights. It's been fun to go watch. They medaled last season, but last night were eliminated from medal contention. Their skip has really been struggling.

Hey there's something new on here after all these years. Curling's a blast. We had a team in a local league before COVID. But since my brother died it's been hard to get the 'band' back together. I wonder if my SIL would even want to do it. Fun way to spend a couple of hours. In this league the winning team buys the losers drinks.

How is the adult league up at the Oval? After this year, I might have more free time this next year. A curling league would be fun!

He plays with other cops he works with. Not sure what nights leagues play there, but next season they're fielding two teams to play on Monday and Thursday nights. Everyone looks like they're having a good time. I'm not sure how long most have been playing, but I'm guessing not a super long time.

I'm certainly no curling elite. I played 2 years in high school is all. It has been 25 years since I've played.

I saw the ugly side of curling last night.

Bo Jr's team had a healthy lead of seven points. In the 5th End, the other team had three stones in scoring position when Jr's skip made an amazing shot that took away all three points and instead scored Jr's team a point. But the other team said he released the stone past the Hog Line--not when the stone was released, but after it came to a stop after an amazing shot. It's the honor system, so they didn't make a scene, they simply moved on.

The other team did score three more points in the last end to lose by one point.

I guess I had no idea just how ugly curling can get, right?

We watched the World Men's Curling Championship up in Ogden today. In dramatic fashion, it came down to Sweden vs Canada for the gold medal. You'll recall it was Oskar Eriksson from Sweden who called out Canada in the Olympics.

A different team from Canada won their national championship to represent them, so not as much drama as could have been, but still there.

Sweden's skip, Niklas Edin played lights out and showed why he is the GOAT. Jr was so excited to watch him play in person. Mrs. Diddley is half Swedish, so she was all in.

                            That was fun to watch.

Every sport needs heroes and heels as the controversy drives interest which drives revenue. It's great when Canucks are considered the heels by the rest of the world.

                                He's becoming Captain Ahab:

“Evil unfortunately wins sometimes,” Eriksson said in Swedish, per the English captioning of the video.
