  • Monday after the Super Bowl.

I wish it would it would be a national holiday. I've got a lot of hung over employees today.

You should be like my father-in-law in that regard. He told his employees that they can do whatever they want on their own time, but whatever the result of their choices happened to be, they will be left outside the building when they enter to work. No exceptions.

8 of my employees, including 3 managers have gone home this morning. Mostly at my "encouragement." Just frustrating to lose so much firepower. I have to believe I'm not the only person feeling like that this morning.

I have heard that this is a reason that the Super Bowl will eventually be played on Saturday.

I have heard it discussed a couple of times on national sports talk shows.

Is it worse than say, opening Thursday and Friday of March Madness? I can count on 4 hour lunches and computer streams of games. March Madness is definitely worse in the bubble.

I think I am planning a trip to the urologist for Wednesday before the opening weekend.

I've taken the first weekend of the tournament off from school/work since I started college. It's one of the best couch potato days of the year.

Probably not worse when it comes to sports fans, but the Super Bowl seems to be a good excuse for a big huge party for sports fans and non sports fans alike. Several of the people I sent home today are not sports fans and probably didn't even know before Sunday who was playing in the game.

If it were played on a Saturday, we wouldn't have to spend half of Gospel Doctrine class debating whether it is breaking a commandment to watch the game that 90% of the members are going to be watching anyway.

It would also mean the loss of a youth fireside every year. Changing days would effect the LDS church more than many other groups.
