GQ has a fascinating article on the accounts of the alleged Marvin Harrison shooting a couple of years ago.

I enjoyed watching Marv play, he and Manning were a devastating combo. He seemed as maintenance free as any wide receiver in NFL history. His fall from grace seems more tragic than the Michael Vick or Rey Carruth types. With them, it was accepted that they were thugs and their horrible behavior wasn't surprising. But with Harrison it was different. He was someone who appeared to overcome the streets. I almost wonder if that's why this story isn't getting more run.

The article was good, but I think the writer was overly sympathetic towards Nixon in an effort to make his story a little better.

I agree. But he was the story, so he had to be. In the end they're all pieces of shit.

GQ is pretty late, SI did an article about Harrison about a year ago. The guy is a total dick. He was basically Tiger Woods in the sense that he stayed out of the spotlight but behind closed doors he was an A-hole.
