I get uncomfortable calling an injured player a bust, but it's quite clear he's falling severely short of expectations.

I don't know how you can count on anything from him as an NBA player.

Seriously though, I feel bad for the kid. He can't catch a break.... I kid, I kid. It's too bad that he's been hurt his entire career. Portland is so injured right now, even their coach is hurt. Rough.

I knew he was 40. He needs to retire.

Reminds me of Ralph Sampson. Great in college, could be good in the pros, but never healthy enough to prove it.

I still take him on the Jazz, I am not sure what that says about him or the Jazz.

Very nice. I called it on draft night. Portland has a history of screwing up BIG time on draft night.

His latest setback appeared to happen without any contact: He planted both feet to block a shot by a driving Aaron Brooks, and his left knee simply gave way as he went up. Brooks lofted in a bank shot while Oden grimaced and began to clutch his knee while still in mid-air. Photographs in the immediate aftermath showed his kneecap displaced several inches down and to the right from where one normally expects a kneecap to reside.
Unbelievable. This kid's body is just never going to hold up.

Sucks. He is young (Age wise), so I am hoping he can get healthy and have a good career. I am beginning to wonder if Portland is the curse and not the player...

I watched this kid play here. He was fun to watch...

Didn't we already know he had knee problems? I always thought that's why he wore those pads on them?

I love how Hollinger says all 30 GM's would have taken Oden over Durant... really, John? You can say that with certainty?

What is it with Portland and high draft pick centers. They don't seem to have any luck. Didn't they draft Bowie instead of Jordan way back when?

This just makes me sick and it isn't because I am a Blazer fan, it is because Oden is one of the good guys in the NBA. A good guy like Oden can't stay healthy, but players like Bron Bron don't have a single injury problem. It isn't fair.
