Great news! Here's to you, Freak.

I can't imagine what his arbitration numbers will be. Yikes!

Solid move by the M's passing on the local kid.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

One of the most dominant local kids ever, as well. It's not as if he came out of nowhere.
          I'm like LeBron James.

They were lowballing the hell out of him. Offered him 3 years 37 million. He wanted 3 years and somewhere in the mid-40s.

And two years is the ideal length. If he breaks down, you're off the hook. If he continues to pitch at a Cy Young level, ink him long-term or trade him in 2011 or deal him for a load of talent.

Seems stupid to jerk with a guy who is a true #1 starter. Of course the kid wants to be paid like an ace--he should be. There are so few #1 guys in the league, you'd think they'd lock him up along with Cain. Put a decent line-up around that pitching and you have a contender for as long as they stay healthy. Nobody would want SF in a playoff series similar to the old Diamondback model with Schilling and Johnson.
