Didn't he drop a couple significant passes recently? He had 4 or 5 catches in their last game, but I know he has had some problems with drops.Originally posted by jxncoog View PostRumor has it, that they made a run at TE Bennett of Dallas.

Yep. The Bengals have good reason to want to upgrade at TE. I hope Coats can snap out of it, but so far he has made too many mistakes.Originally posted by YOhio View PostNo. They're not happy with him. He's dropped four or five TD passes in the past couple of seasons and had a bad fumble last week.

He actually had great hands in HS and his freshman year at BYU. Then he got a case of the dropsies, and couldn't shake it. By the time he was a senior, he was pretty consistent again, but the bad-hands perception was already cemented.Originally posted by Hot Lunch View PostHasn't Coats always had this problem? I seem to remember his QB's at BYU losing confidence in him because of dropped passes.
For all the pub Harline got, I seem to remember him dropping as many as Coats. But then, Harline had a tendency to catch the ball at his chest/stomach rather than use his hands.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock
