Ten players with the potential to be in the top 5 for the '18 season.
http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/story...ayers-2018-nbaGordon Hayward | Utah Jazz
Hayward is a strong candidate to be named most improved player this season, as the swingman enters his fourth season and expects to take a prominent role in the Jazz's offense. Like many others on this list, Hayward suffers from playing in a small market for a team that doesn't make a lot of national TV appearances, but he's quietly one of the most versatile young wings in the game, and was a standout at the USA Basketball Select Team camp this summer in Las Vegas. A great shooter from deep range, Hayward must continue to develop his game to exploit his distinct size advantage and finish at a higher rate around the basket. With his ability to make plays and raise the productivity of his teammates, by 2018 he might be one of the premier wings in the league.
Derrick Favors | Utah Jazz
Favors recently agreed to a four-year extension with Utah, cementing him as the first of their cornerstone "Core Four" players to be signed long term. At just 22, Favors has a lot of room for growth, particularly on the offensive end, where he is still raw and mechanical, but he's already a solid piece to anchor a team defense around, and a terrific rebounder on both ends of the floor. With the offseason departures of Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson, Favors will have more opportunities to be featured on the offensive end, with the hope of hastening his progression on that front. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Gobert does look better, but even against the Lakers, he had 4 rebs and a block in 13 minutes. Not bad. It's obvious he is an impact player in terms of protecting the hoop and he seems to be an above average rebounder as well. He deserves important minutes in the regular season.Originally posted by BGRTHNUMEGO View PostFavors with a great game. 16 and 13 and only 1 TO in 28 minutes so far.
Gobert looking so much better tonight than he was against the Lakers.
Also, while he's hasn't done a ton in the pre-season, I really like Ian Clark's game.I'm like LeBron James.

Which is what they should've done from the start instead of bringing in midget Mo Williams. There are lots of PG options that will help the Jazz get a top 3 pick. Might as well use one that will also pass the ball. Lucas is about the worst possible fit for this team, especially with the front office's stated goal of trying to help Trey learn how to be more of a distributor and not just a scorer.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostJazz reach agreement with Jamaal Tinsley!

Last night's game was fun to watch, the score notwithstanding. A few highlights: Favors was very good and Gobert apparently has a 7'9'' wingspan. John Lucas is terrible, so terrible they woke up Tinsley who was passed out in a bar in Inglewood and resigned him. Matt Harpring was and is the worst color commentator in the NBA. John Lucas is appallingly terrible. Gordon Hayward once again showed flashes of brilliance followed by long stretches of insiginificance. John Lucas wouldn't play significant minutes in the Sri Lankan league."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault
"Once I seen the trades go down and the other guys signed elsewhere," he said, "I knew it was my time now." - Derrick Favors

John Lucas is a veteran (please ignore that he's barely played 2,000 minutes in the league). He is a shooter. Not a maker, but he is a shooter. And he played at Baylor and so did Dennis Lindsey. I don't see the problem here?Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostLast night's game was fun to watch, the score notwithstanding. Doc's Hayward crush made the move with him from Boston to LA.An hour after Clipper coach Doc Rivers proclaimed that he had a “man crush” on him, Jazz shooting guard Gordon Hayward gave more reasons for respectful opponents and Utah faithful to adore him.
Hayward had 19 points, six rebounds and six assists. His all-around strong night included an impressive third-quarter sequence in which he blocked J.J. Redick’s shot and then powered over the returned L.A. sharpshooter for a strong driving score. So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

That's nice, but I really think we need to see what we have in Biedrins and let this guy sit on the bench for a few seasons.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostAnd that video doesn't really even do his performance justice as he had the 12 rebs in 20 minutes. Will donate kidney for B12 membership.
