  • With Rubio on board and Im assuming Hayward back, the Jazz are going to need a stretch big. Maybe that's Iso Joe, but I'd feel better if they've got another option. I pulled basketball-reference.com and searched for guys who were 6'9" or taller, made at least 60 3s last year and shot at least 35%. Here was the list, with number made and percentage:

    Ryan Anderson (204 / 40.3%)
    Paul George (195 / 39.3%)
    Kevin Love (145 / 37.3%)
    Ersan Ilyasova (142 / 35.3%)
    Channing Frye (137 / 40.9%)
    DeMarcus Cousins (131 / 36.1%)
    Danilo Gallinari (126 / 38.9%)
    Serge Ibaka (124 / 39.1%)
    Marvin Williams (124 / 35.0%)
    Kevin Durant (117 / 37.5%)
    Kristaps Porzingas (112 / 35.7%)
    Marc Gasol (104 / 38.8%)
    Marreese Speights (103 / 37.2%)
    Karl-Anthony Towns (101 / 36.7%)
    Patrick Patterson (94 / 37.2%)
    Luke Babbit (87 / 41.4%)
    Al Horford (86 / 35.5%)
    Dirk Nowitzki (79 / 37.8%)
    Markieff Morris (71 / 36.2%)
    David Bertans (69 / 39.9%)
    Maurice Harkless (68 / 35.1%)
    Kelly Olynyk (68 / 35.4%)

Any realistic interest or options here? Patterson? Harkless? Olynyk? Ilyasova?

    • My top 3 would be Gallo, Ilyasova, Patterson.

Gallo would be a great fit. Would he come for what the Jazz could pay (MLE?)

I didn't realize that Ilyasova was a free agent as well. Knew Patterson was. Seems like either of those guys are realistic options.

Sounds like the Clippers want Gallo and would probably give him more than the MLE.

Should the Jazz not land Hayward, I'd think he'd receive a significant offer from the Jazz as well. May serve him well to hang tight.

That was my thought as well. May be why he hasn't signed yet.

                        • What is the plan once Hayward announces he is going to Boston? Wonder what Lindsey has up his sleeve. Not much out there.

Well, it's not official. The big wigs are now saying that nothing has been decided and he hasn't announced anything.

In other words, something leaked too early and Gordon is saving face by being able to tell the Jazz before it's official.
