I don't know why but I love watching this kid. I am developing a man crush on him. 3-0 with wins over Houston, New England, and now Tennessee. Next week they get NO in the Superdome. That should be awesome. The guy doesn't look like a rookie QB. Especially one who left school early. I also love Rex Ryan. Take notes Raiders and Al Davis.

So does PC. Which makes me think he knew just how bad the QB situation would be at SC this year when he made his comments and pouted when Sanchez announced he was going to the NFL. I called him on it. I think PC's comments were really classless. When your HC says you're not ready for the NFL, it has to have some real impact on where you get picked. We're talking a lot of money here--these aren't just idle musings. If I were Sanchez, I would have been pissed. No one is going to fault the Niners for taking Crabtree because he was regarded as a top 5-7 pick who had fallen and it was also a position of need. But I personally never liked Crabtree- I thought his stats were inflated by the TT system and he didn't have either elite size or speed and he was turned off both the Browns and ESPN during personal appearances. It's a credit to Sanchez that he was still able to overcome Carroll's rant about Sanchez not being ready for the NFL and still being picked as high as he was. Now a number of teams are wishing they had thrown everything they had to get him. Sanchez and the Jets are an awesome fit. The Jets have had some very good recent drafts (06: Mangold and Ferguson, 07: Darelle Revis) and they have talent at RB and receiver and have a really good o-line. But you'd have to think Sanchez would have worked out well in Washington also. He could throw to Moss and Cooley. That's why the Skins were trying to get him so bad and they dislike Jason Campbell so much. It's not like the Redskins have no one at the skill positions, Jason Campbell just sucks really bad.Part of it is based on academic grounds. I felt like Oher was a reach at 10, and Crabtree was potentially too good of a player to pass up. When you can get one of the top talents in the draft at 10, it is tough to let it slide, especially when it is a position of weakness on your team. Looking back now, yeah, I think Oher would have been a better pick, or even Orakpo, but with 20/20 vision I'm sure a lot about the draft would have changed.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View Post
