Redskins stripped of 36 Million in cap space over the next 2 years...Dallas 10 million for salaries paid out during the uncapped year. Read: Albert Haynesworth. Apparently the other owners thought this was unfair...

So much for all the cap space.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

There are multiple reports on this and none of them are clear, but yeah...apparently the other owners weren't too keen on the skins using 2010 to clean up the books. Some people might call what the NFL owners are doing collusion.

Now Redskins fans know how Lakers fans felt when the NBA stopped the Paul trade.

Ha, seriously. I can't imagine the Redskins and Cowboys don't have some kind of appeal option here.

Adam Schefter tweeted that the Redskins are saying that all contracts were approved by the commissioner's office. I think this story is long from over.

I know so little about the law that applies here. Did the Skins see this coming? If not, is there recourse? If there is it has to be to a federal court, unless it is to binding arbitration. That really sucks if they were planning around that and had it sprung on them.

Mixed reports again. PFT said that both teams were warned 6 times, and many believe the Skins knew when they made the RGIII deal, but I have to believe they did not think that the penalty was going to be this stiff. I would think that they will at least appeal in some form or fashion. For 30 clubs to go after Dallas and Washington on this just seems so fishy to me.

Danny is gearing up for a fight, this just released:

“The Washington Redskins have received no written documentation from the NFL concerning adjustments to the team salary cap in 2012 as reported in various media outlets. Every contract entered into by the club during the applicable periods complied with the 2010 and 2011 collective bargaining agreements and, in fact, were approved by the NFL commissioner’s office. We look forward to free agency, the draft and the coming football season.”

                    And the Cowboys say:

"The Dallas Cowboys were in compliance with all league salary cap rules during the uncapped year. We look forward to the start of the free agency period where our commitment to improving our team remains unchanged."
Danny and Jerry unite (this once)! An unholy alliance of Benjamins!

My guess is there is a large number of DC lawyers who will not be going home tonight.

Prediction: The Redskins will be in front of a federal judge at some point tomorrow asking for a her/him to enjoin the commencement of the free agent period.

He also said that both teams are already preparing documentation of other teams doing the same thing that they did during the uncapped year.

                                Dan Graziano:

"If what the NFL did in 2010 was secretly tell its teams not to overspend in an uncapped year, then it engaged in an act that's illegal in any other industry. If that's what happened, it's collusion, plain and simple. It's a bunch of businessmen who operate all of the businesses in a given industry getting together to limit the earning potential of the workers in that industry. Anyone with even the most basic understanding of labor law would classify that as collusion. ... But that doesn't matter to the NFL, which defines collusion very specifically under the collective bargaining agreement so as to protect itself and, as usual, operates by its own laws. ... The NFL should be embarrassed by this whole situation, but it isn't, and won't be. It never is. It does what it wants to do when it wants to do it, and it finds a way to excuse it after the fact. It is the epitome of modern corporate greed and arrogance. The big-money ends always justify the means, and we're all complicit, continuing to feed the beast because it entertains us."
