  • Some help selecting a road bike...

Not to tell a whole life story here, but in the times when I was thin I was very much into cycling and I'm shortly having weight loss surgery and when I reach my goal weight, my reward is going to be a nice road bike. I saw that Cycling Magazine recommended the Trek 1.5. I've always had a Bianchi fetish but maybe I should go another way.

What bike would you recommend, I want something that will be a bike I can ride for a while but nothing crazy high end. I have some budget flexibility so let me know your thoughts?

If you've been into cycling before, you know what to look for. In the price range of the Trek 1.5, you could also check out the Cannondale Synapse, Specialized Allez, maybe Orbea San Remo, or Giant Defy. A lot depends on what your local bike shops carry, because you definitely want to test ride before buying.
