COntador abandons aftr a nasty crash that saw him break his frame in half and slide off the road. He tried to come back, but abandoned a few miles later. No froome, no pistolero, it might be Nibali's to lose at this point.

I saw a small amount of the live coverage this morning and it was raining like crazy. This has been a brutal tour and it's not even half over. I really wanted to see a Froome/Contador race in the mountains but at least I can still cheer on the Americans. If Talansky can stay on his bike he at least has a shot at the podium."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Right now with two climbs to go teejay and talansky are both where they want to be. It will be good to see how they end up.Originally posted by Moliere View PostI saw a small amount of the live coverage this morning and it was raining like crazy. This years tour seems unusually rough with all the crashes. The rain was the cause of a lot of the problems but it seems their is also more chaos in the peloton than in past years. Every stage someone is taking off right from the gun, teams are fighting at the front for every inch of road they can grab, their is no le Patron to control the group, it's like a spring classic every day. Mentally it's got to be hard to race knowing their is a good chance you're going down today.

This is so true and honestly it makes the tour more exciting. The shakeup on the leader board the past two days has been crazy and it's likely to continue today. We are also barely starting the mountain stages. Crazy fun to watch...Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostThis years tour seems unusually rough with all the crashes. Tejay climbs into 7th place today. Porte has been really amazing. Would have been interesting to see how that would have played out had Froome survived. He likely would have gotten burned up on the climbs pacing Froome, but you never know.
It seems really weird to have a Tuesday rest day. Seems like they've always had them on Mondays as far back as I can remember.I told him he was a goddamn Nazi Stormtrooper.

Probably due to the 14th being on Monday. Can't have a rest on Bastille Day.Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostTejay climbs into 7th place today. Porte has been really amazing. When Porte has been the leader of Sky he has done really well. He won Paris-Nice last year and was 2nd at Criterium du Dauphine. He can climb and time trial. I would imagine some other team is going to want him to be their #1 next year.Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostTejay climbs into 7th place today. Porte has been really amazing. Related, I saw that Wiggins had resigned with Sky today. With all the drama between him and Froome, I found that kind of interesting.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostWhen Porte has been the leader of Sky he has done really well.
