"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Definitely! I watched the final stage of Paris-Nice tonight just to get ready. The classics are great. One day races. Broken up pelotons. Epic crashes. What's not to love?Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View PostAnyone paying attention yet this year? I haven't been but just realized that Milan SanRemo is this Sunday.

Sounds like a truly awful day to be on a bike. It's hard to ride in an echelon with heavy winds and even when I'm by myself it feels like my bike it going to blown out from underneath me. I hate riding in the wind.

Belgium in the spring. Brutal. Here's Thomas just getting blown off the road into a ditch.Originally posted by RC Vikings View Posthttp://velonews.competitor.com/2015/...classic_364972

Ha, it's crazy to see how much the other guys are leaning into that wind.Originally posted by Dwight Schr-ute View Post"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. I watched the final stage of the Criterium International. What a thrilling race.
Coming up the final ascent, which was a 9 mile long climb, Peraud took off only to be caught by the first group. Immediately after he got cuaght he took off again, putting a good 45 second between him and second place. Pinot was chasing him and at about 1.5 miles left Pinot took off in an attempt to reel in Peraud. Pinot needed to take second by 8 seconds on the stage if he wanted the GC win. Over that 1.5 miles Pinot chipped away, getting the lead down to around 20 seconds with only 500meters left. Then, Pinto unexplicitly almost took a wrong turn and end up losing anywhere from 5-8 seconds. It was madness as he realized at the last second he was taking the wrong road and steered back just in time to get back on the right path without having to back up. He ended up taking second place by 16 off the leader.
If Pinot had not almost taken the wrong road, I wonder if he would have won. He certainly lost momentum in having to come back to the course and likely lost some confidence. Peraud won the stage and hte GC. Ben King, the leader coming into the final day, got dropped early in the last climb.
You can see Pinot start to go towards the wrong road at 28:30 in this clip:

Nasty. Did you happen to see the one earlier this week from Pais Vasco? Yikes. Here's the "safety measures" of marking some poles on the outside line of the road within the final kilometer:Originally posted by creekster View PostBig pile up in a pre Paris-Roubaix race. What a mess.
