  • Tour of California changes dates

I'm personally glad to hear about the change. Its been a very nice race, but is really lacking some of the great mountain climbs in CA due to being so early in the season.

Now a stage from Sacramento to Lake Tahoe is an option. Mount Lassen may also be possible, which would make for a premier mountaintop finish, comparable to some of the classics at the TdF.

The only downside that I can see is that it now competes with the Giro, so some of the top Euro teams will be really watered down. Sounds like Levi is excited about the change.

Speaking of the Giro, I am sad no US tv network picked up the daily coverage. I was hoping with LA participating, Versus would have picked it up, but they did not. Sad.

That's a pretty significant downside though don't you think? Seems to me you run the risk of always being the NIT to Italy's NCAA Tourney. However, if there really ends up being a Mt. Lassen stage then I'm all for it.
