Is there already a discussion somewhere of the advantages/disadvantages of various types of clipless pedals? Or vs. traditional clips?Originally posted by creekster View PostAllow me to answer for Dwight (who,m dspiute being a ute fan has made some good chocies from time to time) and myself: Speedplays, baby. There have been a couple of threads over the years, I think. There might have been one on cougar guard, too.Originally posted by Pelado View PostIs there already a discussion somewhere of the advantages/disadvantages of various types of clipless pedals? I've been a speed play guy from the start, although I lock them in. But I'm looking at getting some Garmin Vectors, which operate on a Look Keo form function I believe.Originally posted by creekster View PostAllow me to answer for Dwight (who,m dspiute being a ute fan has made some good chocies from time to time) and myself: Speedplays, baby. I have only ever used Look and I like them."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. Had my first close call with a car today. I was riding north and a car was coming south wanting to make left and just pulled out right at me. I had to make a very sharp right onto road they were going so I would not get hit. I didn't have a stop sign or anything so I wasn't at fault. They couldn't have cared less, even though their windows were up I could see where they(very old) were waving at me to get off the road. I made a u turn and left them with a few choice words as I passed them. Ugly ride all the way around.

That sucks. Be careful with the harsh words. Sometimes people take it poorly. Be careful out there!Originally posted by OceanBlue View PostHad my first close call with a car today. I was scared to get them because I will fall over and I will be unhappy. I think I got the Shimano SPL or SPD or something like that. The nice lady at the shop said they're the easiest to get in and out of. So far no problems.Originally posted by Pelado View PostWhat types of clipless pedals/shoes are you guys using?Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

I've used Look Keo (classics?) for years and have been happy with them. Local bike shop has been pushing the speedplays at me, but so far I haven't tried them. I like the larger platform of the Looks, for the infrequent times I hop on the bike to test some mechanical fix without needing to put on the shoes.

This, and I can ride around my neighborhood in just tennis shoes when I take the kids out for a Sunday ride.Originally posted by mtnbiker View PostI've used Look Keo (classics?) for years and have been happy with them.
