  • HTC hitting the High Road

HTC will be no more at the end of the 2011 season.

I wonder if Cavendish will want to join Team CUF now that he has a little spare time on his hands. Bigpiney could sure use the competition in the sprints at Tahoe this weekend.

I don't think Cavendish will have a hard time finding a team to join =)

I'm sure you're right. He is already saying that he has a team that is joining, but he has yet to identify who.

Most of the speculation is that it will be Team Sky. It makes sense to some degree, mainly because they are a strong British team. But I would be curious to see if they could really develop a solid all-around team with Cav and his lead-out train, along with Bradley Wiggins and the support that he needs to be an overall GC contender.

I wonder if he will consult with LeBron James on how to make the announcement as to the team lucky enough to be able to enjoy his company?

LOL...one of the most ridiculous television broadcasts of my lifetime. I sure hope he doesn't.

I wonder what speed Cavendish sprints to on those flats. 55 MPH?

Mark Renshaw reportedly signs with Rabobank, ending a very successful term as lead out for Cavendish, who is likely signing with Team Sky soon. It sounds like he wants to have a go at it himself as a sprinter. makes sense, imo, as he seems as strong as most of the top guys.

I still remember his lead-out in Paris a couple of years ago when Cavendish won by a couple hundred yards and Renshaw actually took second by a hefty margin. He totally obliterated the field with 800 or so yards to go.
