Not worth a new thread, so I'll piggyback on this one as it involves, theoretically at least, a new bike... I've been emailing with back and forth with the head of Look's operations here in the U.S. about a small matter. In the course of those communications I mentioned that Mrs. PAC and I are running a half marathon this weekend, something that was unthinkable two years ago but which has become a reality, in part because of cycling-induced fitness and Look's fine bikes. Apparently he was copying in Look's chairman in France on this, as I received the following message a little while ago from his excellency: "Mark, Looks that you are slowly switching to Tri. After a few lengths in a good swimming pool we'll have a 576 ready for you.
    "

Tempting though that is, however, I really don't want to start swimming, something I've not done in >30 years. Still, a nice fantasy.

You're still going to accept the free bike, right?

Despite what the chairman wrote, I think it really means I'd get the usual discount (around half retail), which is still great, but not enough to induce me to be cold and wet for long periods of time.

JIC, How do you like your Secteur? A local bike shop has some great deals on the Secteur, and I like the more relaxed geometry - same as the Roubaix. For my first road bike, I also like the price.

Clueless has about 6 centuries to her name at this point. She's a great rider...we're bringing our bikes from NYC for a month in Sundance this summer and I expect her to kick my fat ass up and down the hill.
