  • Lance is done

With the TdF in the future, that is. He just tweeted in the last hour that this is his last Tour de France.

His tweets have been pretty aggressive lately, and now he is giving himself as much motivation as he possibly can.

This makes it even more fun.
    PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Maybe he'll do something special. I thought last year was quite an accomplishment and doubt he can repeat that effort but hey you never know. Can't wait until this weekend although I think I have to wait until Monday to see the stages. I don't think my parents have VS at their house.

      Also, Brett Favre retired.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

I assumed the whole point of him coming back was to put together a team to carry the LiveStrong message going forward having learned he needs a better platform in retirement. Maybe I've incorrectly assumed he's a realist.

            I'm sorry cr33k, but I've become disillusioned.

Perhaps once the TdF begins, I'll get some of the fire back.
            Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I loved him in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.

Sometimes you have to come to the harsh reality that the technology will catch up to the dopers.

TO be clear, all he said was that this would be his last Tour de France. He did NOT say he was retiring from all competition.

disillusioned? Are you disillusioned by baseball becaseu ti turns out mos tof their butts are like pincushions? or football becasue it turns out most fo these guys take sterioids and their brains are turned to mush by time they are 25 years old? How about track and Victor Conte? At least Conte could lay down a mean bass line.

These are still phenomenal athletes that do amazing things. No question some or most ro even all have 'cheated' to some degree, but the sport is cleaner than it has been (I do beleive that and the results seem to show it). So why are you disillusioned?

I think he's disillusioned because he is a BYU fan.

Okay, I'm getting a little geeked.

First, in answer to all your questions, yes, I am disillusioned by Bonds, McGuire, et al, as well as so many football players that use steroids. Very disillusioned. As for LA, it's pretty clear that he has cheated like all the others (and maybe that's the point; everyone else is doing it). But he has been so adamant with his denials and heavy-handed in his response to those that question his cleanness. Maybe that's his only option.

Anyway, part of my problem this year is that the stages are held in the middle of my night, plus there is very limited coverage here. I'm resigned to catching it on tape delay the next day on AFN. I don't know how this is going to work.

But I am watching the tape-delayed prologue right now (the Versus feed), and well, pretty dog-gone cool. I do love the TdF. And I really don't like Contador, so I can get behind LA sticking it to that Spanish prick.

Oh to be in Europe for a few weeks.

AHHH, That;s more like it. COntador seems easy ti dislike. I am not sure if it is deserved,, but he is. The odd thing is that in reality Lance should be just as easy to dislike. If you have read his books, which I have, he comes acorss as a world class jerk, at least to me, but the man has been amazing on the bike and, on the tarmac at least, he is one of my favorites.
