I'm not sure if I believe anything that he says here.

First, whether he is playing possum or not, but he states publicly in this piece that he would be okay with not winning the tour.

He also says that Andy is the stronger of the Schleck bros this year.

Finally, he says that Astana is Vino's team (which I believe), but that Vino will be at the full service of Contador at the tour (which I don't for a second believe). Watching the power struggle between he and Jan Ulrich back on TMobile, I'm not sure that Vino is capable of riding support for anyone. His ego is far too big to do so.

If you notice the article, while recent, is actually referring to comments JB made in an interview BEFORE the Tour of Calif. In that context they dont seem so outlandish.
    PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Good point. I hadn't paid that close attention to when the comments were made.

So considering that, which of those points that I made do you think would have now changed, a month and change later?

        Frank vs. Andy.

VIno will work for AC. It sure doesnt look that way. AC took 'his' guys to train this week. No Vino around. OTOH, JB is a smart guy, he may just wnt to keep good relations with everyone for the day LA retires and he is looking for a new team.

Once again I agree on two, and maybe three, of your points, which is really weird because I already agreed with you once today (over in the FIFA thread).

Are you saying that you think Vino will or will not actually support AC in le Tour?

I would take Frank over Andy, but not by much.

I think Johan is positioning himself to bring on Contador in the next year or two as the heir apparent to LA (AGAIN!). Can't burn any bridges at this point.

I still doubt that Vino will play nice and ride support for AC. A megalomaniac like that will undoubtedly go rouge at some point in the mountains when he should be pacing Contador to a safe finish.

Gee, I ALWAYS agree with you!

I agree that Vino will not ride support (see what I mean?). JB may have thought so at the time, but subsequent events show the contrary, I think (events like Vino and AC never being in the same country att he saome time).

2 months ago Andy was the clear choice, IMO. But now Frnak has the results and Andy, well, lets just say one hopes he is saving it up for the TdF (and that could be what he is doing, btw).

Good, now that we have that cleared up, will you please state for the record which internet browser you recently switched over to? My money is on Google Chrome with its slick little speel checking feature.

Shared due to the fact that it looks like Haussler is recovered enough to race. Glad to see the infection wasn't more serious.

It owuld be a great race between this team and TRS in 2006.

Kidding, but I think Sastre has seen better days and Thor may also be sprinting to second or worse on the green jersey standings.

Thor is a mystery to me. The guy hardly ever wins but always seems to find himself at the top of the points standings. I suppose that a bunch of second and third place finishes equal a first and a bunch of 10th place finishes. But Cav still has to make it over the mountains again this year before we give him his crown.

I think Sastre will be a low top 10 guy, but not really there to make a whole lot of noise in the overall. He had that one great year, but has really been an "also ran" kind of guy ever since. A bit of a disappointment.

Speaking of getting healthy for the tour, when i first read BBB's last post i was thinking it was referring to Kirchen getting ready in time for July 3rd. Now THAT would be an incredible recovery. From the ICU to the starting line in 2 weeks. I hope that doesn't sound too petty. i hope he recovers soon. Its pretty sobering to hear of a healthy person younger than myself having a heart attack.

                        Next question:
                        http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/foot...ight-debutants
Will Footon-Servetto service as this year's BBox-esque laughing stock, or simply be an also-ran?

Apparently Andy has been reading this forum and found some added motivated for today's Luxumbourg TT championships.

                          http://velonews.competitor.com/2010/...onships_122930

Blitzed the field and beat Frank by almost a minute.

You're welcome, Andy. I only said Frank was better because creekster said it first and he needed some friendly support at the time.
