Great news. Now I can go back to making jokes about BYU's inability to win NCAA tournament games.

In all seriousness, this is the best college hoops news that we could have heard this year. Rose, by every account, seems like a good guy. I'm glad to see that he has won the battle with cancer.

I am really interested to see if either Abouo or Davies redshirts. The hype on Abouo sounds as if he could be the starter. When I read that Tavernari had shed 15 lbs to play for the Brazilian National team I figured he was going to play the 3 next year for BYU and Hartsock would be the primary 4. This article makes it sound like Abouo is going to start at the 3 and Tavernari will stay at the 4. With this scenario I see Hartsock as the primary post player off the bench and splitting his time between 4 and 5. I wonder if there are enough minutes for Davies to play to justify not redshirting him and let him develop and mature, as many indicate he needs. I really like Hartsock and would like to see him play 20 mpg next year. I guess in the end BYU will want to have Davies for the games BYU plays teams with a good legitimate 5 and BYU needs more fouls after Miles and Anderson.

Thanks for finding that. Katz did a great piece on Rose when he was first diagnosed. Katz has been good to BYU's basketball program it seems.

Yes, this is terrific news. Rose is a good man and I'm happy to hear that he's fine.
