  • Childs, NBA prospect or not?

    Whether Childs ultimately plays in the NBA is unknown at this time, but he seems to have improved his prospects by his play this year.

    Stats By STATS
    @StatsBySTATS
    Yoeli Childs for @BYUbasketball
    vs. No. 2 Gonzaga tonight:

    28 pts
    10 reb
    3 ast
    .632 FG%

    The last player to reach all of those numbers in a game against a team ranked No. 1 or No. 2 in the AP Poll was Dwyane Wade during his triple-double in the 2003 NCAA Tournament vs. Kentucky.

    Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

    i think he has a chance to be a second round pick and maybe if he gets in the right situation, he could stick. he doesn't move well enough laterally, not quick enough (which affects his ability to defend) lacks consistent explosion, doesn't really put it on the floor, and his game is too dependent on post play right now.

    in short, he really doesn't have wing skills or movement for offense or defense at an NBA level. to be clear, he doesn't need to play wing in the NBA, but he needs to possess some of those skills. gone are the days when you can just sit in the post on offense and defense and get by.

    but if he can continue to improve his three point shot, work on his body/ability to move laterally and overall defensive ability, he may have a chance.

    either way, i think his elite production on a very good team could be enough to get him picked in round 2.

          I’m still not over the loss of last year’s rest of the season.

              yeah. Happy for Yoli as it looks like he is going to get a shot at the League, but it really just opens up the old wound of a missed tournament run that was just starting to heal

                        To be fair...we'd have gotten him from Utah through the transfer portal...so don't feel too bad.
