  • Solid win tonight

With Cummard having his worst game in a very long time, I think it said a lot about this team to gut the win out.

People bag on JT a lot but he bailed us out tonight. He's turning into an all around player with his rebounds and some timely steals tonight. People can slam JT all they want, but he's getting better and better.

What I like about this team more than anything is our defense this year. I love how tenacious we are on that end. I don't remember a team being this in your face defensively during the Rose era. Sure there were a few spots tonight where we didn't rotate quick enough off the double team, but overall we caused a lot of turnovers and played very well. Jackson Emerys energy on that end seems to lift the other guys to up their level of defensive play as well.

As I type this Utah is down 55-50 to Idaho State with under 10 mins to go.....I wonder if that loss would count against their RPI?

Utah State is going to really struggle this year if teams follow BYUs blueprint and double the post. Their guards are not good. Especially their point guard. I think thats why Dave Rose stayed with Lamont over Jimmer (if you watched he put Lamont back in and Jimmer on the bench but then Lee fouled out moments later so Jimmer was back in) because Lamont was doing an unbelievable job of pressuring their PG. Wilkinson is tough for USU he is a solid player, I still dont see much from Wesley.

(I saw Mekeli Wesley at the game and he was wearing all Aggie gear, also this tool bag was in all red with a poster that said Quest for perfection with the U being red, as well as Max Utahs MVP on teh other side, a guy I was with ripped it up and they tried to arrest him for destroying personal property, the arena staff was so lame. SLC PD showed up and pretty much laughed and let him go, he is suspended from the arena until Thursday which I found hilarious, Yes MRD that was your brother in law)

Somebody had to say it, and you said it very well. I like this version of JT. The steals were great, as were his blocked shots.
      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I didn't watch the whole game, but from what I saw I have to wonder (not trolling here) if Cougar fans are worried at all about Jimmer (who is a heckuva player) being too selfish with the ball and costing the Cougs bigger games down the stretch?

Is he relied on as one of the major scorers this year? Admittedly, I don't know a lot about the Cougars basketball team this year outside of Cummard, Tavernari and of course no Plaisted.
"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

In this game we needed Jimmer to take over, Cummard was doing nothing, our bigs were all in foul trouble and we needed someone to step up. Both Jimmer and JT did that.

I know Emery struggled from the foul line but his stat line last night:

9 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals was pretty impressive.

Not even a concern with Jimmer at this point. He has shown no signs of being a chucker.
