I think Davies and Abouo redshirt- well at least one of them. I think Abuou could use it and I think Davies needs it. I agree with your starters. Magnusson will see all of his minutes at the 4. Tavernari will still see minutes at the 4 and I think Hartsock will see some at 5 when BYU goes small. Haws will play plenty at the wings - 20 or so minutes a game IMO.

If pressed this is how I see the minutes breaking down:

    Fredette - 28 mpg
    Tavernari - 28 mpg
    Emery - 28 mpg
    Hartsock - 28 mpg
    Miles - 26 mpg
    Haws - 20 mpg
    Morgan - 18 mpg
    Anderson - 12 mpg
    Magnuson - 12 mpg

I have no idea who looks good this summer, but I'll go with

      Jimmer
      Emery
      Haws
      JT
      Miles

JT, Harstock, and Miles together on the floor are good offensively but poor defensively. I'm hoping Haws is good enough to enable a JT/Miles/Harstock rotation at the 4/5.

I think Hartsock will be hugely improved and BYU's best inside scoring option. He will play a lot, IMO. I also think that he will be a much better defender thabn many give him credit and it won't surprise me if he is BYU's leading rebounder.

Maybe, but the issue is that with Miles, Harstock, and Tav on the floor together, we'll be outquicked at each of those positions and perhaps severely so. Rose prefers to go small and seems to be more successful that way. It fits Rose's system better to have Haws or Abouo step up to earn perimeter minutes so Tav doesn't have to take them. Then again with this cancer thing, I have no idea what to expect from a coaching standpoint. Very sad.

I think the only position BYU will be severely outquicked will be at the 3 with those 3 on the court. Hartsock and Miles are quick enough at the 4 and 5.

With respect to Rose, I think he will be OK.

I like Hartsock. I think we'll find that he can rebound outside his area, catch in traffic, and score in the paint. I believe we see him at the 4 and the 5 depending on Miles' back-up situation.

I think Fredette and Emery are the starting back court and will see a lot of time. I think both of them step up their scoring from last year.

I like JT at the 3. He is quick enough to guard in the MWC. I also think his defensive technique has improved since he was a Freshman. He will guard just fine. He will also be the back-up at the 4.

Miles will be fine at the 5 but I exepect Hartsock will be his primary back up. Anderson may see some minutes early in the year or when early foul trouble happens.

Rotation for next year come MWC and NCAA tournament time (in order of minutes played):

              Fredette
              Emery
              JT
              Miles
              Hartsock
              Morgan
              Haws
              Lloyd

We will probably see one wing redshirt and one of the bigs. The remainder will see spot minutes. Subs will be the best guys on the bench and coach will use the flexibility of his best players to make the groupings work. For example, we could see Hartsock at 4 or 5. Fredette at 1 or 2. JT at 3 or 4. Lloyd at 1 or 2. Miles and Morgan will only play one position because of physical limitations. Haws will only play one position because of youth.

With the size of Miles and Hartsock behind JT, his footspeed shouldn't be a problem. I also think we see a lot of zone with that lineup.
