I only read the comments from Utah's Coach that SUU was able to penetrate via the dribble-drive. That sounds a bit surprising as the Utes have demonstrated generally sound defensive schemes and execution. OTOH, perhaps Utah under-estimated SUU and was preparing for other games.

I can't get the channel the utes were playing on, so I couldn't see their game. From the box score it appears they played surprisingly awful on defense, allowing SUU to shoot over 50%. SUU also has no size, so not surprising Utah's bigs played well on offense. But the ute guards appear to have been bad on both ends. It looks like both Taylor and Isaiah Wright didn't make a single shot. They really seem to be missing Delon Wright.

I give you two reasons to root against Duke:Originally posted by Topper View PostKentucky and North Carolina are ranked ahead of Duke, but is there is any reason to root against Duke?
And next year, they get even richer. They just got a commitment from Giles, the number one ranked high school recruit.

One Pitt player took nasty spill. He was shuffling backwards and his feet went completely out from under him, causing him to fall forward onto his face. Looked painful.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostStrange. Gonzaga-Pitt game in Japan was cancelled at the half, due to a slippery court. The Marinos were winning 37-35

I was unaware BYU is ranked in preseason polls. On the other thought, I root against Duke but I don't know why they are not ranked number 1 again.Originally posted by mpfunk View PostYes there are many reasons to root against Duke. So many reasons that it isn't even worth starting of list of them.
Utes ranked 16th in both preseason polls. Utes have 2 games against preseason top 10 teams in the non-conference schedule. 1 road, 1 neutral.

Giles' presence in a recruiting class that also includes ESPN 100 talents in small forward Tatum (No. 2), combo guard Frank Jackson (No. 14) and power forward Javin DeLaurier (No. 44) helps coach Mike Krzyzewski's team vault past Michigan State for the top spot in the ESPN class rankings. Duke, which is also in the running for five-star forward Marques Bolden (No. 20), finished with ESPN's top-rated class in 2015.Tags: None
