Rose needs a guard who can score and this team doesn't have that. The post players are not good enough to run the offense through them either. There was preseason talk of being a better team defensively, but that isn't occurring either.
Going to be a rough year for BYU basketball. With developing bigs and returning talent I think good things are bound to happen over the next few years, but this could be Rose's worst team.Comment

It seems the key problem is the replacement of nine new players and getting them to buy into the new system. One oddity of Rose's coaching style is how he allows or at least in this season, has allowed teams to run up big leads before calling a timeout. You wait until it's over twenty? I recognize there are limited timeouts but once he called the timeout the troops calmed down and started a run. This isn't soccer where you have to speak to the subs only to get new ideas over to the team.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View Post

Maybe Rose has been fortunate to have a couple of all time guards, either way, his teams have featured a guard who could fill it up. This team is fine when Fischer is on, but when he is cold they seem lost.
