I'm not sure how much longer Winder will be a bench player.

I don't see it changing. He's perfect coming off the bench. Gives the team a nice boost on both ends of the floor and provides scoring when Haws takes a rest. He could, however, add more minutes at Fischer's expense if Chase struggles.

Just finished it on the DVR. Nice that BYU could win pretty easily even when they weren't hitting 3s. KC hitting his FTs was great too. This is a big month for BYU basketball. Great home schedule.

Why would you mess with something that's working?

Pretty sure BYU scored 47 points over the last 13 minutes -- 44 points in the first 27 minutes.

All those FTs when the game was over helped get us near our scoring average. Thanks Stew!

^^^ THIS. Winder has been magnificent so far and has hit a bunch of shots when we absolutely needed them.

Nice to win in Logan even if USU isn't very good this year. The USU fans need to be put down for being so annoying.

Also, the way the refs handled the situation with Haws getting fouled on the breakaway was INSANELY bogus. Are you freaking kidding me? I don't get it. Even with having the video which couldn't have shown more clearly that the USU player made absolutely no play on the ball they couldn't award a flagrant for that? He grabbed his arm to pull him down. It's real easy for a player to get injured on something like that. I get it that it didn't seem that USU guy was trying to hurt him, but that's not the rule. It seems stupid that under the old rules it would have easily been ruled intentional. I thought the point of changing the rules to now call flagrant 1s and 2s was to tightent things down rather than allow more stuff to fall through the cracks. Haws' reaction was completely understandable. Ridiculous to call a technical there but not the flagrant.

Interesting. I thought they handled it well. It would have been a marginal Flagrant 1. Haws deserved a T for getting in the guy's face (although it looked worse than it was because Winder bumped into Haws, who bumped into the USU player). If the USU guy hadn't tried to get after Winder after Haws was pulled away, I don't think the USU player gets T'd up.

I agree. I thought the foul was boarderline flagarant and could have gone either way. If you get up and head toward a dude in an aggressive manner after a hard foul, you should expect to get T'd. I didn't have a problem with Haws doing it either. Let people know you aren't soft.

Here's the problem I have with it, and it's more of an issue I have with the rules, I guess. Before they made the change a few years ago they would call this foul "intentional" and award free throws and the ball and no one would have batted an eye. It was clearly the USU guy's intent to foul with no attempt at going for the ball. Haws was in the air in a vulnerable position and hit the floor hard. Someone could easily get hurt on that kind of a foul, and while injury can't always be prevented, the rules should at least be there to protect from that as much as possible, in my opinion. In this case, I think changing the rule actually makes this foul seem more ok than it would under the older and supposedly less stringent rule. I find that odd.

Also, after looking it up, there is also something called a "clear path" foul, and I don't know how this doesn't fit the definition.

I am not sure I am going to get any work done today. Aggie fans on Twitter are comedy gold.

I don't really agree with Derik Stevenson's take on football coaches, but he is awesome on twitter. I guess he's going to be sitting courtside at the BYU Utah game!
