OK, it's no longer a rumor. Majerus stepped down today due to health issues.

Now that it's not a rumor, I'm not saying anything.

The world of basketball will lose one of its best minds. I really respect Majerus as a coach. He really knows the game.

A shame for basketball and a shame for Big Rick.

It is a bizarre world in which we live when an intelligent man with so many medical resources available succumbs to neglect.

Rick Majerus isn't the first or the last, it reminds me of Larry H. Miller dying of complications of diabetes. It was apparent that this would likely happen 20 years ago, but sadly it wasn't averted.

An important note in terms of heart transplant. It will be very difficult to find a heart for Rick because of his weight, the heart has to be big enough to pump blood for a man of Majerus' considerable weight, which considerably shrinks the pool of viable donors.

Sad read on Majerus from a St. Louis columnist.

He is a good man who elicits strong feelings from those who care about him. That just seems to go with his being a genius. Good luck, Rick.

Has anyone heard specifically what is going on? Does he really need a heart transplant?

This is about Rick Majerus and his will to live. To be blunt, I fear the worst. I don't like what I'm hearing. It troubles me that the people closest to Rick have shut down. They won't talk about his situation. They won't tell us to stop fretting, because everything will be OK.

I want them to tell me that Majerus needs another surgical procedure to fix the heart, and that he'll be fine in a few months. But they won't tell me that. And that troubles me.
This is a good read from St. Louis Post Dispatch.

Would have been better if it were accompanied by the latest picture of the BYU scoreboard.
