I don't think Abuou is a two inch taller version of Mike Hall. First, he's about Mike Hall's height. He's not a legit 6'5. He's barely a legit 6'3. And he's far from being the polished scorer Hall was. I hope he can get there, but way too early to tell. His game is more like a 6'3 Charles Barkely or Fennis Dembo. I like him a lot but he's a little short to play the position he excels at, and is going to have to really work on his game to become a perimeter scorer. I think he'll have a good career at BYU, but I'm not quite as bullish. He'll be a good wing in Rose's offense and can guard guys several inches taller with his strength. If he was three inches taller, he'd be a star at the 4.

If the measurments you quote are true Abuou will be two inches taller than Hall. Hall was reported at 6'3" when in reality he was about 6'1" while Abuou is reported at 6'5" when he is really 6'3".Originally posted by jay santos View PostI don't think Abuou is a two inch taller version of Mike Hall. I maintain that he starts at wing for 3 years. So step off, Mister Happy!Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!

Friggin' Gerald Madkins. There's a blast from the past. Didn't he play on those Tracy Murray/Don McLean UCLA teams? IIRC, he had a backcourt mate who was pretty damn good as well.Originally posted by Goatnapper'96 View PostAny west coast guys remember Gerald Madkins from UCLA in the late 80's? Abuou, from a physical characteristics perspective, is a much darker version of Gerald Madkins.
In his face, he reminded me of Magic Johnson, but the similarities ended there.
It's going to bug me if I can't think of the guy he played with in the backcourt - they could both play the point and the two.I'm like LeBron James.

Darrick Martin from St Anthony's High in Orange County. I watched McLean and Martin play in the semi's of the Simi High Preseason Tourney. It was great, Martin scored about 50 and McLean scored about 35. McLean's squad won by about 20.Originally posted by smokymountainrain View PostFriggin' Gerald Madkins. There's a blast from the past. Darrick Martin - that's him. Thank you. He played quite a few years in the NBA.
McLean just didn't have the athleticism to be good in the NBA, but he sure did have a scorers mentality and that quick release was a thing of beauty.I'm like LeBron James.

You sure, I thought I read a few places that the family either converted in the Ivory Coast or after emigrating to Logan. If he is LDS I doubt he has mission plans. The Ute recruit Jeremy Olsen will serve a mission, in a few years I believe Seattle Ute will lament that decision.Originally posted by RockyBalboa View PostHe's not LDS.Do Your Damnedest In An Ostentatious Manner All The Time!
