  • Can we pick a new song? One shining moment is just not cutting it

Some traditions are begging to be broken.

How about "One Moment in Time?" Why should the Olympics get to hog Whitney's talent?

BTW, Wikipedia claims "One Shining Moment" killed Luther Vandross so I'm firmly in the "No "One Shining Moment" camp.
There's no such thing as luck, only drunken invincibility. Make it happen.

Tila Tequila and Juggalos, America’s saddest punchline since the South.

    Today is Friday, Friday (Partyin’)

    Tomorrow is Saturday
    And Sunday comes afterwards

I hate to admit this, but I really look forward to "One Shining Moment." I know it is about the cheesiest thing in the world, but I make sure I watch it every year.

        Same.

It is like a Luther Vandross meets John Tesh nightmare of a song...a song that would make zero sense outside of this one particular context.

Come to think of it, what other songs make zero sense outside of one particular usage?

Another one that I can think of off the top of my head (in addition to "One Shining Moment") is "Rock and Roll Part 2" by Gary Glitter. Seriously, does anyone pop that into their CD player or iPod and listen to it in their car? Does it have any other application beyond TV timeouts at football games?

I wonder if Stanley Kubrick gave any thought to using "One Shining Moment" for the final chase scene through the frozen maze? Would have given the ending a totally different vibe.

        Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

          I do. I think it's funny and a great start to a road-trip mix.

            I suggest this:
