One observation about the in-game gear: have low tops made a comeback? I noticed that this season, Davies is rocking what look to be jogging shoes. Carlino wears them, as well, as do a couple of the other players. We had some nice seats tonight and I was able to confirm that these shoes are low tops. Havent seen that in basically forever.

Kobe brought it back with his signature shoe about 3 years ago now.

They all wear ankle braces nowadays that are more supportive than high tops, so the support the high top gives is kind of irrelevant.

I didn't realize he "brought it back" Who else wears low tops? Did any BYU player wear them last year or the year before? We're other players wearing them? I didn't notice it as a trend at all.
That is your Buffalo game summary??? C'mon man, I love your basketball game summaries as you know more about Hoops than anyone one this board. Your insight is pretty spot on.
This is your time to tell us Zylstra is legit.
With regards to Brock. He and Winder really bailed us out in the first half. I think Brock's biggest problem is that his brain goes faster than his body. When he is under control, he can actually do some things.
Winder was M O N E Y last night. That was great to see him come in and do that. I do think eventually he is the better option than Cusick, simply because of his defense.
Our Defense in the 2nd half was legit. We really contested and covered the 3 point shot well. Which is something we have not done all year. Austin played some great minutes. My only issue with him is that he let Buffalo's Big guys get the ball too deep in the paint.
Chuck is being way too careless with the ball these last couple of games. I haven't seen the box score but I can guess he had at least 5 turnovers again. That is brutal. He picked it up in the 2nd half but he hasn't been ready to play these last two games.
I love this team. We are deep, we are young and we have some balance with different guys picking it up each night. I seriously think Rose is the man! The Future looks very bright right now for the Cougars.

How does this game legitimize anything about Zylstra. Brock has scored double digits just 3 times this year. And those scoring outbursts have come against Weber State, Northern Arizona, and Buffalo. Clearly his two best two games were the NAU game and last night's. Take those two games away and he's shooting 38% from the field and 35% from 3 point land. Take away the Weber State game and it gets worse. 36% from the field and 32% from 3 point land.
I am sorry if I still don't buy Kdog's hype of Zylstra. He has shown up to play in 25% of our games thus far. And of those teams he went off against Weber State is the only top 100 RPI team and they're at 99. For someone that is now in his 4th year in the program I expect a bit more. Especially since he's not exactly Chuck on defense and is second on the team in minutes to Hartsock.
Sure Brock had a nice game last night and got hot but I have no reason to expect that effort to be duplicated for another 4 games.

K-dog hasn't hyped Zylstra. He's just said that he's a D-1 player that can play a role on the team.
Zylstra had 7 rebounds against Baylor. the coaches asked Zylstra to rebound that game, and he did. Zylstra does what the team needs him to do.
He's not an all-conference player, but he's a serviceable role player. As a role player he'll have games where you notice him and others you don't. There's nothing wrong with that.
