In light of our humiliating loss to Utah in Football this year, would a win in the only basketball matchup of the year with Utah serve to soothe your ruffled feathers?

Screwed up my vote. I thought the epic beatdown was referring to our BB win last year, and it was a positive not a negative. Anyway.
I get joy from a Utah win in any sport. But a 50 point win doesn't seem appreciably more enjoyable than a 10 point win or closer.
The BB win last year was fun because of the Jimmer antics.
Because this year's Utah team is so bad, it almost doesn't seem fair. And with the conference change and the change in the rivalary--Nov football to Sep, only one game in BB early in season, and not fighting each other for conference standings--it really does feel like the rivalry is losing it's status. We're both going our separate ways.

The fact is, nothing can compensate for the football team's failure. That said, this Utah basketball team has so far demonstrated that they are one of the worst teams in the nation and we should beat them by a monster number because we need to develop our youth and let them run a live offense even when we are up by a big number.

I will enjoy it, but not as much as last year. It would be very difficult to top that. Jimmer's half court shot and then his nonchalant walk away after the shot is my all-time favorite Jimmer play."There is no creature more arrogant than a self-righteous libertarian on the web, am I right? I liken this to in football the Utes kicked the crap out of me, so in basketball I'm going to go kick the crap out of their sister. It's not a fair fight.
Now if it went this way, it would be better revenge:

Ditto, that was ubercool. It wasn't even a case of a guy knowing he'd done something spectacular and forcing himself to say nonchalant. He looked genuinely like he was thinking something like, "Oh good, the half's over; I can go take a leak now."Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View Post...Jimmer's half court shot and then his nonchalant walk away after the shot is my all-time favorite Jimmer play.

Agreed. He played that one like he had done it a thousand times before. The guy was a stone-cold assassin.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostI will enjoy it, but not as much as last year. This seems on-point for this thread, from ColoUte:
BTW, I haven't voted. I know this is a poll for BYU fans. So, fact of the matter is, Dave Rose picks the score of the game on Saturday. Moreover, it will depend far more on the quality of crullers Chris Hill buys him at their weekly breakfast meeting than on who our starting point guard is....
