SW Baptist smack.Originally posted by jay santos View PostAmazing. Utes think a 5 seed is too high for them.
You do know your RPI is only high because the SW Baptist game is not included, right? You do know SW Baptist was on your schedule, right? They weren't a preseason game.

It's not smack. It's just the detail that shows why Utah's RPI is flawed. Utah's flawed RPI ranking confused the selection committee enough to overseed them, yet here I see a Utah fan complaining about being underseeded.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostSW Baptist smack.

OK, you get some slack for lack of sleep.Originally posted by ERCougar View Post[BYU] outrank [Utah} on nearly every computer ranking and were a foul shot from sweeping them.
EDIT: Wow....that sounds grumpier than I mean it. I'm going on 40 hours without sleep and need to go to bed. Point still stands though

BUT . . . Utah split with BYU, tied with BYU for the regular season championship, and won the MWC tournament by beating the team that eliminated BYU. Not complaining about being underseeded, I think a 5 is fantastic. There is a disparity. Other BYU fans have done a good job of convincing me that the seed makes sense. All you can see, however, is the bad SW Baptist loss. Well, if nothing else that loss was good for giving hardcore Cougs something to cling to in the face of a disappointing season end.Originally posted by jay santos View PostIt's not smack. You can't troll me, dude. I really don't give a shit about your team. I don't even remember when you lost to SW Baptist. The only reason it's pertinent is that it highlights how bad the RPI formula is, and how you got over on the NCAA committee.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostNot complaining about being underseeded, I think a 5 is fantastic. Honestly I don't care about your team but I am pissed and jealous about your 5 seed, only because we've been screwed in our seed to ranking (accurate ranking like Sagarin) throughout this decade, including this year. And here you get overseeded by 2 or 3 seeds and face an RPI #63 team in the first round.

It's a good thing you don't care about my team. Otherwise you might get angry and jealous about the seed they got.Originally posted by jay santos View PostYou can't troll me, dude. If a Boston College fan came on the board I post at (f*** you CUF founders for taking away my "you're posting on a BYU message board" argument), I'd be just as jealous and angry about their seed.
If that gets you off, go for it.
