I think when you hear that scouts are saying that Jimmer is interviewing well, it's stuff like that that impresses people.

Also the way Jimmer said that in the NBA you have to learn how to play and how to defend the pick-and-roll is something that impresses people. Yeah it's obvious, but I think Jimmer knows what's important and will be very motivated and goal-oriented.

I'm finding it harder to convince myself that Jimmer is just going to be a role player like Redick -- I'm thinking more and more that he's got a legitimate shot at being at least one of the ten best NBA PGs.

Agree CC. I think that Jimmer is going to be more than a role player, and I think we are all going to be surprised at how well he is going to do in the NBA.

You just don't kill everything, interviews, drills, shooting skills, etc etc...and NOT do well in the NBA. The guy is and always has been a winner. Winners know how to compete and do what it takes....Jimmer is the real deal.

I keep coming back to this in my mind. At every level Jimmer has proved the detractors wrong. No way was he going to play point at BYU, but he forced his will. I don't know how one can bet against that.

If he is a solid backup at worst and a star at best, then he is a top 10 pick in this draft without question.

Which is true for every player outside the top 2. So again, it doesn't sum anything up very well.

It's a bit different with Jimmer. Jimmer has such a unique skill set that folks are reluctant to believe that it will translate to the NBA. If it does, he's an all-star. If it doesn't, he's a bench guy. Jimmer has a much higher ceiling than most but he also has a lower floor.

I think Jimmer is a low risk pick. At worst he is a lethal shooter/scorer off the bench. At best he is a starting point guard probably just outside the truly elite point guards in the league. Lots of teams need Jimmer's worst case scenario IMHO.

Because other PGs are more well rounded players IMO. They have more of an opportunity to contribute in some way.

Even Jimmer's elite skill is questionable as there isn't a lot of teams out there that will let him dominate the ball like he did at BYU. And nobody has seen him play off the ball enough to know whether he can contribute as just a pure shooter.
