Is Lawrence Borha the new Brady Poppinga?

After the BYU vs Utah game he said it wasnt anything they did, we just beat ourselves.

Tyson Johnson of Wyoming said something similar after the Wyoming game.

I guess it is hard to get your asses handed to you by a bunch of slow, white, 24 year olds from Utah County. I bet if they were from the Dallas-Fort Worth area they would have respect.

I think the biggest difference is this:

Here is the actual quote: "I just think they came out in the second half and dominated us, really," guard Lawrence Borha said. "We didn't play with enough force and passion. I don't think it was anything they did, but it was just us."

So, Borha says that they dominated us. He then goes on and says that they didn't play with force and passion and that is on them.

If it was Poppinga, he would have said something like this: "We played really hard and in fact, we played so hard, that I consider ourselves the victor. We won this game even if it does not show up in the victory column...in our hearts, we know we won.

Lorenzo Wade is still trying to figure out how Jimmer scored 28 on them, especially since it wasn't by making 9 threes.

So which is it for you? They are both right or they are both wrong? :-)

It's a zero-sum game: Utah played poorly because the BYU was playing well. Utah didn't have its "force and passion" because the BYU took it from them.

It sure would be helpful if BYU could overnight Utah's force and passion back to them so that they could use it for Saturday's game. Hell, I will even pay for postage (though I think my tithing should have already paid for it).

Until Bohra or any other Ute athlete say that in his mind a loss feels like a win, Poppinga will never have an equal when it comes to silly things to say.

Did Brady Poppinga really say things like this?

                  Here is his exact quote:
"Honestly, after the game, it felt like a win, even though in the record book it didn't go down as a win. In my mind, it was a win. I can live with that."

So, yes, the Bohra quote is not even in the same discussion as the famous Poppinga quote. In fact, they aren't even about the same thing.

Didn't Ron Mcbride say something similar when his team lost to Arizona back in the day? Something about how it was a win for the utes?

Hmmm, don't remember. I believe you may be thinking of Brady Poppinga.

"They thought they were gonna come in here and step on us like we were a piece of dirt..."

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I don't know about any quotes from McBride and I am sure there were some good ones know Coach Mac because Utah got screwed that game.

A horrific call and a missed field goal are 2 different things.

I may be wrong, but I remember him complaining (and rightfully so, honestly) about the controversial call. I remember him saying Utah won even though it was a loss.
