    BYU Coach Dave Rose

ESPN rumors is saying the following:

The numbers speak for themselves: six straight 20-win seasons; five straight 25-win seasons; back-to-back 30-win seasons. What Dave Rose has accomplished in six seasons at BYU is nothing short of remarkable. In all, the 53-year-old coach has accumulated a 159-45 record during his time in Provo.

With success like that, it's no surprise that other schools are calling to inquire about Rose's availability. The latest rumor had Oklahoma seeking out Rose. But according to Jay Drew of The Salt Lake Tribune, Rose turned down the OU job and could be in the process of negotiating a new contract extension with BYU.

As the story points out, Rose is a devout Mormon who only two seasons ago agreed to a new contract. That was before he led the Cougars to a combined record of 62-11 over the last two years. Don't be surprised if BYU locks up Rose with another lucrative extension in the near future.
I guess Rose and staff are in NO for the Final Four. Do all coaching staffs go to the Final Four? Is this something they are doing on their own, or are they invited and comped by the NCAA?
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

There is a national coaching convention at the Final Four every year. Our old bishop was a DIII coach for years and attended the Final Four every year. Lucky guy.

It is houson, not NO. He probably is also reconnecting at his alma mater while he is out there.

KSL reporting they have agreed to a new contract.
One of the grandest benefits of the enlightenment was the realization that our moral sense must be based on the welfare of living individuals, not on their immortal souls. Honest and passionate folks can strongly disagree regarding spiritual matters, so it's imperative that we not allow such considerations to infringe on the real happiness of real people.

And rumor is that there will be some arena upgrade information given too. Maybe we'll get SMOKE machines!!!

According to a CBer who claims to be in the know, the upgrades will be a new HD video/scoreboard dealiebobber that hangs from the ceiling and the top two rows will be removed for a flashing LED board that goes fully around the arena....

I heard they will be adding alternating sections of pea green seating.

I hate those bright banner boards around arenas. So visually distracting.

Good to hear about the new contract.

Btw, Rose was planning to be in Houston since at least early January. He did a fireside in west Houston. I would have gone but it started at 8am on GC Sunday.

I don't know if I've ever been distracted by them while attending a game. And that's with them running just below the club level in pro arenas. At the top of the MC I probably won't ever even notice them.

Just think how much they can charge Emergency Essentials to run advertisements during devotionals.
