The Jimmer of yesteryear, he of playing pickup games with prison inmates, wouldn't in a million years gesticulate in that surrounding like he's done of late. I'd say I'm disappointed, but life in the bubble will do that to you. Once he gets T'd up for such antics as an NBA rook, he'll learn and leave the theatrics to his coaches.
Other than that, this clown hasn't seen Jimmer or BYU play all year. Why deviate from what's worked to win 30-plus games?
I hope he stuck around to see the gonzaga game. No, I guess he didn't.

Love the article. Made me chuckle. I'm sure this particular author didn't have ANY bias or agenda in attending a game with teams he doesn't care about.
Wait...what? You mean he actually wrote that he was hoping for upsets? Oh...I suppose I'm wrong.
I'd love to hear a debate between this dork and the TV announcers who worked the game and were chastising the rest of the BYU team for not letting Jimmer handle the ball even MORE.
That is indeed a very ignorant article, but it is annoying how much he whines to the refs these days. It looks bad. If it results in him getting more fouls called, I'm all for it.
His image would be less damaged if the effing refs would just call the fouls to begin with, but I also see him whining after a lot of clean blocks or out-of-control turnovers, so it's not all the refs' fault.
Has Jimmer ever received a T from the refs for arguing? Has he ever received a T for anything? Jimmer gets hacked and bumped all the time, too. Big deal.
I get the sense that this is a lot of sour grapes from opposing fans and haters.

Exactly. He's not whining, he's talking with the refs. Big difference. He wants to know what they saw and understand how and why they called something they did.
Jimmer isn't rolling his eyes, shaking his head, or doing anything demonstrative to show up the officials. Haters are going to hate. I think it's funny that people will nitpick his looking at his arm after getting slapped or something. Remember he got slashed open against SDSU at home without getting that call, who can blame him?

I was just pondering the other day, has Jimmer fouled out of a game? I don't recall him getting 5 in college, I'm guessing no in HS. Maybe once or twice in AAU?
I didn't think the article was all that funny. Wait, you're telling me he was serious? If so, I guess it reflects the level of sports insight and commentary one would expect from HuffPo, including such oddities as "Jimmer can actually be a brilliant passer, but his unwillingness to give up the ball was pathological." Clearly the author and Hans Olsen, who lamented Jimmer not taking a shot for the first few minutes of the game, are not on the same page--and the author doesn't mention who led BYU with assists.
Or this, which seems to contradict the previous declaration: "A typical Jimmer moment was bringing the ball upcourt, going left into a triple-team, they [sic gyrating and gesticulating in the air before giving up the ball to a teammate at the last instant." This is a bad thing? Drawing three defenders and then hitting the open man?
OK, this one is just weird (and absolutely wrong): "Despite the aforementioned stats, Jimmer Fredette had but 5 points in the second half when it mattered most, and most of his numbers that day come on the foul line during garbage time." When was this magical time? And how do five free throws, compared with seven threes (and eleven FGs) or six assists comprise most of his numbers.
And I loved his "In 50 years of ball-watching, I have never seen a player (a) be more selfish; and (b) do less to get his teammates involved." The best explanation for this article is that Michael Coniff is the nom de plume of Stevie Wonder. If only he had been able to brush past Jimmer's shorts he could have closed the post with "Was blind, but now I see."
This guy has chops. If you really want to hit BYU fans where they live you don't suggest that Jimmer is not as good a player as he is cracked up to be, you suggest that he is not a good human being. Not saying I think he is right...
