I just wish you didn't have so much work to do this weekend. I for one will miss your witty repartee.

This will be a debacle. BYU seems to be a team of destiny; Utah a team of unfulfilled and ineptly coached potential. They have gotten worse as the season has unfolded I'm sure JImmer will go off but I don't think he breaks the single game rivalry scoring record. I'd just like to see some heart and execution from Boylen's boys-at this point there's not much to play for but pride.

I can't remember if it was Reader's Digest or Highlights. Anyway, the thread title reminds me of a joke I read, like, 10 years ago:

"Did you know that William Tell and his family were avid bowlers? Yes, it's true. But, unfortunately, all the bowling league records were destroyed in a fire, so we will never know for whom the Tells bowled."

          Still gets me.

            Utes not doing well

            http://www.deseretnews.com/article/7...rtcomings.html

Five of the Utes in the playing group, he noted, had never played at Viejas Arena before, and his team struggled. A sellout crowd of 12,414 was on hand as the Aztecs won their 17th consecutive home game. An enthusiastic student section provided a rowdy atmosphere and biting chants like "show no mercy," "Boylen's fired," and "You should transfer."
Utah carries a four-game losing skid into Saturday's rivalry game at BYU. The Utes have struggled mightily during the slide. They're shooting just 50.7 percent from the free-throw line and 37.8 percent from the field.

"Our quality of opponents have been very good, but I don't know why we're not making free throws. I don't know why we're not making layups and open shots," Boylen said. "I don't know why. I just keep evaluating and keep working at it."

What concerns Boylen most is the quality of shots and turnovers.

"Those are things that I think I have to really evaluate," he said.

The Utes have turned the ball over 56 times over the past four games and have missed 138 shots from the field and 33 from the foul line.

"We've had a lot of empty possessions," Boylen said. "And we've got to try to stop that."

Failing to finish at the rim and make open shots have contributed to other shortcomings.

Utah has been outscored 136-92 in the paint during the current losing streak. The Utes have also come up in short in points off of turnovers (61-24), second-chance scoring (47-28), fast break points (32-8) and bench production (83-46).

This game will give Jimmer the most wins in BYU basketball history. He is currently tied with Tavernari at 103. That's a hell of a career.

Clyburn said that he has something for BYU. I am looking forward to see what that gift will be.

I can't get too excited. Utah lost to Air Force twice. It's a nice game to continue to let Collinsworth and Anderson rest up.

I just wish our RPI didn't have to take another hit.

                          Are you being serious?

I wonder why he would say that?

The saddest thing to me about Bolyen/this Satruday is that SU is so down about the program that he's forced to slum over on Utefans in order to get a hearing for his crazy ideas.

Saddest thing to me about Boylen/this Saturday

Even then there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of Ute Fans supporting his theories, even some disagreement. I gave SU a red star to show my support during these troubled times. I encourage others to do the same.
                              Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

In other words, in terms of bone, muscle, and basketball skill, man to man, BYU may not be that much better than Utah.
lol. Utah: winning the sinew/tendon/ligament game.

what a pathetic post by SeattleUte. No wonder he had to sneak away over there to post it. What a defeatist attitude.

This confirms my post from a few weeks ago. This hopeless Ute basketball season, coupled with the timing of Jimmermania and the world-wide rush of love for BYU basketball has been the most difficult thing for SeattleUte to endure. At no point in time was Utah basketball ever as revered, beloved, respected, and admired than what the world is seeing right now with Jimmermania and BYU basketball. ESPN, Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, USA Today, NBA all-stars, NBA and D1 college coaches, and media journalists across the country agree with me.
