The Brigham Young University Cougars versus the University of New Mexico Lobos

Focus people, focus. We have a game on Saturday.

Should be another win, but it's in The Pit where we've lost two years in a row. I hope the team has come back to reality.
    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

The SDSU game I had 100% confidence BYU would win that game. However, this is a trap game. I am about 98% right now sure we win at the Pit. My confidence is in Rose to keep these guys grounded and ready. It's going to be nuts at The Pit. But this is the Jimmer farewell tour and I am sure he's going to give the fans their money's worth. I also think we see a more balanced effort from the team. Jax gets double figures and knocks down a few treys. Hartsock too has a nice game.

It's a trap all right. A fire trap. I predict at least one fire breaking out, resulting in a game stoppage. In addition to Jimmer being on fire, that is.

It's a disgrace that BYU has to play in that place.

The Pitt's conditional use permit has them able to use that fire trap through the end of January. That means that BYU has to play there. If the (really necessary) fire suppression/warning systems don't get installed by the day-after Saturday, the lobos have to play their remaining home games elsewhere. I just hope it doesn't cost lives.

Going into a game like this, it is comforting to know BYU's best player generally plays his best games on the road.

I am actually not all that worried. I think the maturity of this team will help them not have a let down.

It won't be a major surprise if BYU loses. Losses happen in college basketball. BYU will take the game seriously, but New Mexico could be hot at home.

Villanova is a really good team. Providence is not. Villanova had a huge week, and then lost on the road to Providence. Home court in college hoops is huge, and it is tough to expect college kids to maintain their focus so well each game. Jimmer is obviously a rare exception, but after the Utah, CSU, and SDSU games I don't know if we can expect him to carry the team yet again in another road game.

I actually think Emery and Hartsock being off offensively against SDSU will help tomorrow. I think those two will really be dialed in even after coming down from the high of that game because they didn't play as well as they would expect.

I'm always worried about UNM but I don't think UNM is that good this year. I think we see nice games by our supporting guys. Once again we have shown we can win if you focus on everybody but Jimmer, now we will once again see a team try to beat us by focusing only on Jimmer.

Oh, boo hoo...I'm so worried about Arizona! They will be out for revenge!

boo, hoo...the Utes have nothing to lose...anything can happen in the rivalry game!

CSU on the road...boo hoo...Ogeday is so good!

San Diego State is so athletic...boo hoo...it will be impossible to live up to the hype!

New Mexico is scary. The Pit isnt up to fire code...boo hoo...The students will be really loud!

Pull yourselves together. You all make me sick.

If there is one coach in the MWC that I want Jimmer and crew to embarrass it is tough guy Alford that calls out opposing players after a game, proclaims Gary to be a better PG than The Jimmer, and whines for a pity party in the press about how hard its been for his team to overcome their personnel losses from last year even though BYU lost more and didn't get a UCLA transfer to help out.

[nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1GexPBeT4Y"]YouTube - Steve Alford swears at Jonathan Tavernari.mov[/nomedia]
