Who is going to be on the team in year 1 post Jimmer?

For Sure on team and on scholarship:
    Hartsock
    Collinsworth
    Winder
    Abouo
    Anderson
    Rogers
Either Ian Harward or Nate Austin, one comes home in time to play next year.

Most likely on team and on scholarship:
    Zylstra
    Martineau

Potentially on team or on missions:
    Davies
    Harrison

That leaves BYU with two more scholies. Perhaps more if Zylstra, Martineau or Anderson don't return to play after this year. It would not surprise me if BYU loses at least one of these and perhaps more if BYU can find some good JC recruits. Especially on the perimeter. I doubt BYU finds a center as good as Anderson out of JC so although Anderson won't play a great deal if he sticks around for his senior year but he will see minutes as a back up, and perhaps even more if Davies chooses to serve a mission.

This is my totally unbiased assesment: If Davies goes on a mission BYU is likely to suck. If he plays, BYU is likely to have its worst team since year 1 of Dave Rose.

I hope Rose can find a JC perimeter player who is really good in the Mike Hall or Tyrell Lyday mold. I would think a JC player who can play the point and another JC wing would be good additions.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

I actually think Rogers and Abouo will lead the team in scoring and both will be solid players. Obviously we will see a bit of a drop off, but we are playing in the WCC so we should compete for a conference title.

I worry about the guardline. Id like to see BYU take a servicable juco guard.I don't think Martineau will develop into a serviceable journeyman backup.

That team looks pretty damn good with a senior Mike Loyd at the point.

I hope Austin gets home in time to get in shape and contribute. Out of high school, I think Harward would have been 2 years away from contributing even if he joined the team directly out of school and didn't go on a mission.

I think a starting lineup of Winder, Harrison and Abouo would be young but would be fine. Rogers off the bench should be a good scorer by then. If BYU can find a Lyday or Hall caliber of JC transfer, then a starting lineup of Winder, JC and Abouo with Rogers and Harrison off the bench should be pretty good. If Davies develops into a good 5, there is some hope BYU could be better than I think. But it will require Davies to develop and BYU to find a good JC transfer on the wing.

Speaking of PG is BYU legitimately pursuing Tyronne Corbin?

I expect Austin to redshirt his first year and Harward to redshirt his first year as well. I am skeptical both of these two are at BYU a real long time. I just didn't think either were that good and I struggle to see BYU keeping two on the roster who are basically in the same mold. I think one or the other will move on in a couple of years.

The coach? Or his son Tyrell. Drew talked about mutual interest months ago.

I was somewhat surprised at the offer to Harward. I thought Austin was the better prospect because of his more advanced perimeter skill set, and BYU got Davies in the same class. But like the Nielson kid they just offered, I guess they felt a 6'10" kid that could move alright like Harward was worth the risk to see what he could become after his mission.

I think Austin ends up with a nice career at BYU. Some BYU fans that followed him very closely during summer play are really quite high on him. We'll see if his body every cooperates by letting him gain a little weight. I think Harward tops out as somebody similar to Gavin MacGregor.

I am pretty high on Austin because I like his skill set. He has a euro-type game and I think he will have a productive career.

That's what I expect, but that doesn't excite me too much. Show me a 6'10 kid that can take someone's head off in the key and play with his back to the basket, not a skinny white kid who can shoot three pointers.

Color me shocked on that one. He has nice soft hands and is 6'10". End of positive attributes.

Yes I know, I just thought it was odd to say he had Euro style as a compliment. As if that's not what you would expect when you first hear of a 6'10 white LDS recruit. Then again I guess Euro skills 6'10 kid would beat a 6'10 210 lb kid who has no outside game at all in addition to being as soft as Creekster in the religion forum.
