This clip is not too impressive. Is he really 6'10". What level competition is this?

He moves pretty well, but doesn't look even close to 6'10 and is rail skinny. Project.

This seems to follow the sign post players who USU offers pattern. Nate Austin, Ian Harward and now Neilson.
Outside of USU, he had offers from Army, UCI, UCSB. Not exactly a big deal get. Hope he works out.

Probably not a bad strategy. Send them on a mission. Three years later, see how they look. If they don't pan out, help them find a spot at Southern Utah University and move on to the next one.

Good point USU always seems to have scrappy 4 or 5 I wish was on BYUs team.

We should never have let Wesley go to USU.

That one still hurts. They go deeper in the tourney last year if they had him.

Well, if BYU wants to go to the 332nd fastest tempo offense instead of 14th, then you might have a good point.

So you are saying that Wesley would not have been able to keep up? You think that Wesley had anything to do with the pace of USU?

I don't buy either of those assumptions.

Agreed. Wesley would not slow you down any more than Hartsock and Miles on a fast break. But he will actually use a possession in the post and is a great post scorer. In that sense, he may actually slow down the offense. But that's a huge plus, not a minus. Neither Hartsock or Miles gave us quality post possessions. And neither rebounds as well as Wesley.

There's no way Wesley, who scores more than Noah and Miles combined, rebounds better, and would be the most efficient scorer on the team doesn't make the team better. And then having a guy who could catch and finish around the hoop for Jimmer? Wouldn't that be something. I hope Davies is that guy.

OTOH, I bet Hartsock would be better and would put up better numbers under Stew.

Agreed - I'm not even sure where Indy is coming from with that comment. It's just weird.

When the stats have been reported, the thinking has been done.

Why would you guys even acknowledge a recruit like this kid? I thought that I was watching a young men's tournament. I wish I was 6'10"...I would have had a college education paid for!

I'm coming from that I don't think Wesley would be nearly as effective in BYU's offensive system as he is for USU.
