Disagree. Such an amazing athlete that would have dazzled the dozens of home fans in the Huntsman Ctr.

Ahmed is still figuring out his role. I think he’ll be a nice addition by the end of the season. Couple dumb fouls today, but nothing alarming. We really do miss Big Nose Baker off the bench, though. (My daughter’s nickname for him, not mine).

Would have liked Mboup to get at least 75% of Ahmed’s minutes. Guy is not impressive at all. Very soft defensively. Has some length but gets routinely bullied by stronger guys. Mboup isn’t a world beater but is much more willing and able to be physical. I hope he isn’t hurt but it’s baffling to me why he is giving his minutes to Ahmed if not injured.

Ugly win, but winning ugly is a necessity in the B12. Glad to see some other guys step up when AJ was struggling. KState’s guards are good—it felt like we were fortunate that they couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn from 3, or that might have been a different game. I guess the D gets some credit for that, but I don’t know how much credit they get for the wide open misses.

Our close out defense looked much better than usual, which probably helped with their horrible three point shooting.
    Boscovich made some big threes.

Davis had a good game. 6 rebounds and 3 steals.

I’m wondering if Ahmed took Mboup’s minutes at the 5. I thought Mboup looked good in the nonconference, so maybe he’s banged up instead?

There’s really only one or two guys on the team, that would feel anything like rivalry pressure.
Utah is the least of my worries.

That was a very physical game. AJ was abused every time he got the ball. But we abused them as well, defensively.

    Nice road win.

Way to grab a road win to start conference play.
