Disagree. Such an amazing athlete that would have dazzled the dozens of home fans in the Huntsman Ctr.

Perhaps he wouldn't have been had he stayed at Utah.Originally posted by BlueK View Post
Funny how when he transferred, Utah fans told us he wasn't any good.

Ahmed is still figuring out his role. I think he’ll be a nice addition by the end of the season. Couple dumb fouls today, but nothing alarming. We really do miss Big Nose Baker off the bench, though. (My daughter’s nickname for him, not mine).

Would have liked Mboup to get at least 75% of Ahmed’s minutes. Guy is not impressive at all. Very soft defensively. Has some length but gets routinely bullied by stronger guys. Mboup isn’t a world beater but is much more willing and able to be physical. I hope he isn’t hurt but it’s baffling to me why he is giving his minutes to Ahmed if not injured.

Ugly win, but winning ugly is a necessity in the B12. Glad to see some other guys step up when AJ was struggling. KState’s guards are good—it felt like we were fortunate that they couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn from 3, or that might have been a different game. I guess the D gets some credit for that, but I don’t know how much credit they get for the wide open misses.

Boscovich made some big threes.Originally posted by Moliere View PostI caught the second half and it looked like an incredibly physical game that was being called pretty tight. Boscovich and Ahmed are frustrating on the defensive end. We really need to play them as little as possible. Davis was doing some good dirty work. Our close out defense looked much better than usual, which probably helped with their horrible three point shooting.
Davis had a good game. 6 rebounds and 3 steals.

I’m wondering if Ahmed took Mboup’s minutes at the 5. I thought Mboup looked good in the nonconference, so maybe he’s banged up instead?Originally posted by Green Monstah View PostBoscovic’s block on the fast break was pretty cool.
is Mboup injured?

Utah is the least of my worries.Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostProbably the most impressive full game since Wisconsin. To do that on the road in the Big 12 is a great sign. Gotta think we are close to a lock for the next 2 although Utah historically gives BYU trouble in SLC. I just think this team is too good to lose to Utah. There’s really only one or two guys on the team, that would feel anything like rivalry pressure.

That was a very physical game. AJ was abused every time he got the ball. But we abused them as well, defensively.
Nice road win.
