Not only do we need shooters, BYU can’t even run their offense. It’s taking double screens just to hand off the ball at the top of the key. Zero offense.

for as great a coach as he is, pope has to figure out how to recruit scorers - guys who can create off the bounce, draw help defenders and make plays (post players who can do the same would qualify as well). it's tough for shooters to get shots when you don't have guys who can create shots for themselves - and in turn, others. BYU has guys who can make shots - hell, D1 players who can make open threes are a dime a dozen - but if you can't get those guys good looks consistently, you are going to struggle. fortunately byu has enough talent, they play defense well enough and they are extremely well coached so they will won a lot of games - but come wcc conference play, especially on the road when these teams ugly up the game and slow it down, byu will have these stinkers because they lack dudes who can make things happen when the defense stays home and open looks don't come by simply passing the ball around.Last edited by smokymountainrain; 12-02-2021, 10:50 AM.I'm like LeBron James.
