  • Good BYU BB take

    http://www.cougarboard.com/noframes/...tml?id=5659042

If I could send board mails on CB, I'd invite this guy to post here.

His analysis of how K and C Collins and Rogers fit in with the team is exactly how I was expecting it to look.

My only surprise would be if K Collins beats out Charles for the starting 3. If he does, he's MWC frosh of the year worthy. And Charles would be MWC sixth man of the year worthy.

Did you like his take on minutes for next year's team?

    1-Jimmer
    2-Jackson
    3-Kyle
    4-Noah
    5-Brandon
6-Chris (If he plays a lot of 4 & 5, he could move up)
    7-Charles
    8-Anson W. or Stephen R.
    10-Mr. Anderson
Is Loyd's leaving really going to hurt? I think he helped because he was unscouted for the most part. If he had stayed, other teams would have broken his play down and neuterized him.

I hope they call a foul on that.

Maybe if that had happened earlier, Rose wouldn't have had to say vaya con dios.

I think his take on the minutes is about the same as mine.

          I'd go with starting lineup

          1 Jimmer
          wing Jax, Abouo
          4 Hartsock
          5 Davies

With K Collins getting a lot of minutes, basically a three man rotation at the wing, with Abouo getting some 4 minutes on occasion.

I see C Collins getting back up minutes at the 4/5 with either he or Hartsock at the 5. I see Rogers getting spot time at the 4 and maybe the 3.

I think losing Loyd is huge. K Collins might be potentially a perimeter scorer and guy who can create off the dribble, but I'm doubtful he'll be able to do that right away. Loyd could do that. Loyd's also better on D and in the transition game than anyone else on the team. With an improved Davies in the post, and with Loyd on the court, I don't exaggerate that BYU would be one of the best half court offenses in the country. Without Loyd, they're great but not unstoppable.

Maybe a matchup with Memphis in Vegas?
